SANNA in her song “Teach Me, Dad” sang about the tenderness that time cannot erase

You know those moments when you don’t have to say anything because silence speaks volumes? When it’s enough to just be there, to feel the touch of a look or a memory? This is exactly what the new song “Teach Me, Dad” by Ukrainian singer SANNA is about. It is like a conversation that no longer takes place, but continues in the heart. Quiet, sincere, real.

This song is a living memory that comes to life in music. It is based on a poem by Petro Vashchyk, a Cossack in spirit and deeds, a real man who devoted his entire life to the revival of Ukrainian culture, including the Cossack tradition. His poetry is without pathos, but with depth. It is rooted in the earth, in song, in love for the Motherland.
“When I sang, it seemed to me that my father was standing next to me. I felt his silence, his calmness. And at that moment I realized: this song is not about farewell. It’s about a connection that lasts,” says SANNA.

The original title of the poem is “Prayer for the Motherland,” but in the song it has acquired a new sound. SANNA, the poet’s daughter, gave the work a different title: “Teach Me, Dad”. This appeal is like a key to an inner heritage. It’s about a connection that doesn’t break, even if there are no more words.
The music was composed by Morphom (Roma Cherenov), a Ukrainian sound producer who knows how to capture the silence between words. His music is not just an accompaniment, it is breathing. It contains the field, memory, tenderness, and strength.

The song was released on Father’s Day, June 15. For SANNA, this is not just a calendar date. This is the day when her father’s words continue to live in her voice. It’s not about sadness. It’s about gratitude.
“Teach me, Dad” is gratitude. It is a testament. This is love that time will not destroy.
