OLIVIA Releases “Promeni” — A Manifesto of Light, Love and Humanity

Ukrainian singer-songwriter OLIVIA has released her new single “Promeni” (“Rays”), a powerful song that was submitted for Ukraine’s Eurovision 2026 national selection. More than a love song, “Promeni” is a musical manifesto about humanity, inner light, and the ability to keep loving even in the darkest times.

The song was born in Ukraine — a country currently living between air raid sirens, hope, and the daily struggle for life. These emotions became the foundation of the track, co-written with Igor Ptg and released through the PTG FAMILY label.

“This song reflects my feelings while living in the heart of Ukraine — the unbreakable city of Kyiv. Even when the world becomes cold, people remain human. It is about our ability to keep loving despite everything,” says OLIVIA.

The central message of “Promeni” is faith in the light that lives within every person — a light that survives fear, loss, war, and indifference. According to the artist, love is one of the greatest sources of strength, helping people endure, heal, and move forward.

“I sing about humanity, support, kindness, and faith in one another. About love being strong enough to overcome darkness,” she explains.

OLIVIA believes these themes resonate not only with Ukrainians but also with audiences around the world.

“We wanted to create a story in which everyone can recognize themselves. It is a song about Ukrainians, but also about every person searching for light in difficult times,” she adds.

Musically, “Promeni” combines emotional songwriting with contemporary production and a sense of inner strength. Traditional Ukrainian instruments, including the bandura and hammered dulcimer (tsymbaly), are blended with modern electronic elements, creating a unique sound that bridges heritage and contemporary pop music.

The release is accompanied by an official music video directed by Lisa Bo. In the video, OLIVIA appears in two symbolic characters representing light and inner fire — two sides of the same story.

The video’s core message is that even in a fragile world, it is important not to lose your inner light because true strength comes from within. A special detail of the video is the appearance of OLIVIA’s daughter, Bohdana, who symbolizes love, the future, and life that continues despite adversity. Flowers breaking through concrete further reinforce the theme, serving as a metaphor for resilience, hope, and renewal.
