At the end of this cold winter, the singer Janeuary unexpectedly releases the most wintry composition – “Everest”.
The title of the song should not be taken literally. It’s not about climbing. Not about an expedition. Not about an adventure. Unless it’s about an adventure called life.
“Everest” was written a long time ago. But it was reborn several times and only now has grown to what the audience will hear.
“Each of us has our own Everest. The personification of an unattainable dream. Spiritualized or not.
Everest is the same person. Or the same life’s work. Or insurmountable difficulties.
Or the endless pursuit of beauty…
And not always in vain,” says the author and performer Janeuary.
The music video released on 02.02 is not just a music video. It is a live diary from the expedition to the Everest Base Camp (5365 meters), which took place in November last year. This expedition was necessary for the author at the exact moment in her life when it happened. It was easy, hard, terrible, wonderful… and so on in a circle.
Janeuary says this: “Everest is a loop of time. Where the hour matters the most, but at the same time it doesn’t matter at all. As if in space…
Height is space. The closest thing to it for those who crawl on the ground.”
All the footage in the music video was shot during the expedition by Janeuary herself and her climbing partner on a smartphone.
