It’s hard to realize, but we are already living through the third spring of a full-scale war. No one knows what the future holds, but for the fact that we are able to read this release and listen to the music now, we have to thank hundreds of thousands of our defenders, some of whom have already given their lives for our freedom.
The severity of the loss has affected everyone to some extent. Relatives, friends, acquaintances, as well as people who inspired us with their activities and filled our souls with beauty, are forever gone.
Among such people is musician, composer, and member of the Vibe Trio band Sergey Artemov. In the first months of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and performed combat missions in the Kherson region and near Bakhmut. Unfortunately, on April 18, 2023, his life was tragically cut short. Serhiy’s creative legacy carries on his vision of beauty and is an important means of preserving his memory.
The Vibe Trio consisted of Serhiy Artemov (bass), Mykhailo Lyshenko (keyboards) and Dmytro Lytvynenko (drums).
The trio was formed in 2016 to play a concert dedicated to Thelonious Monk, an outstanding jazz musician. But the guys enjoyed creating together so much that they decided to form a band called Vibe Trio.
