DDEVA – “Native people”: a song dedicated to those who were taken away by the war

On the eve of the second anniversary of the beginning of the full-scale war, popular singer DDEVA releases a new single “Ridni Ludi”, the meaning of which will be literally important for most Ukrainians.
In this symbolic and difficult time for us, the author and performer from Dnipro releases a track dedicated to her fallen friend, who was one of those who died defending our freedom.

“Native people is a dedication song that was written in memory of our family friend, our daughter’s godfather, priest, father of two, Bohdan Kaplun, who went to war and died defending our land,” the artist explained.

DDEVA lives and works in Dnipro, a frontline city that suffers from enemy attacks almost every day. Her previous songs, including the hit single “Sea,” are dedicated to the experience of living through the events of 2022-2024. However, the track “Ridni lyudy” has a special meaning for both the artist personally and for each of us.
“There is no family that has not been affected by the war. There are people among our friends or relatives who are no longer with us, and they are incredible people. These are the color of our nation, these are the heroes who will remain in our hearts forever! In the image of Bohdan, we want to remember everyone who died in this war, because they are all our relatives,” DDEVA said.

The song took a long time to record because of emotions, memories and pain. The singer could not finish the track for two months. The artist literally could not finish singing her parts because of despair and tears. So, the emotions you will feel in this track are completely real.
The song “Relatives” is intended to express all the pain, shock and despair from the loss of loved ones. DDEVA hopes that her track will allow us to survive these emotions and live on, for the sake of those who need our love and attention now.
You can listen to the song, which is dedicated to our fallen heroes, on all streaming platforms now: https://onerpm.link/ridni_liudy
