Ireland: Next In Line release Eurosong 2024 “Love Like Us”

Posted on 12 January 2024 By Admin No Comments on Ireland: Next In Line release Eurosong 2024 “Love Like Us”

After last year’s edition, the Emerald Isle continues to gear up for another Late Late Show Eurosong special. Over the course of several days, radio crazy Irish broadcaster RTÉ has released the six competing entries. The sixth and last has found its way out: Next In Line with “Love Like Us”.

Ireland released this year’s Eurosong entries one by one on the popular radio programme The Ray D’Arcy Show. Next In Line’s entry is the sixth of six to be played on RTÉ’s Radio 1. Between Monday and Thursday, we heard five other songs.

Eurosong 2024: Next In Line

Yes, Next In Line is in fact Louis Walsh’s next big boyband project. After Westlife (remember Nicky Byrne), Boyzone  and HomeTown (remember Brendan Murray), the Irish producer has gathered a new group of lads from across the island.

Next In Line is a five-piece boyband consisting of Conor Davis, Joshua Regala, Conor O’Farrell, Neung Kelly and Harry O’Connell. Each one of them auditioned separately and were chosen out of hundreds of applicants.

Although already presented to the world as the next in line two years ago, the fivesome had yet to release original material. With internet users already questioning whether the project had fallen through, Next In Line’s bid to represent Ireland at Eurovision is also their debut single.

The Louis Walsh-mentored group talked to RTÉ about their song and Eurosong journey:

“We are absolutely ecstatic to be given this amazing opportunity.”

“The chance to represent Ireland in any capacity is special but to be able to do it in a competition that means so much to us would be a dream come true.”

Do you think that Next In Line will be the act to beat at Eurosong 2024? Might this fivesome represent Ireland at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö? Let us know in the comments down below!
