France at Junior Eurovision 2023: Zoé Clauzure  with “Cœur”

Posted on 1 November 2023 By Admin No Comments on France at Junior Eurovision 2023: Zoé Clauzure  with “Cœur”

France is proudly returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after bringing the trophy home in 2022 with Lissandro’s hit “Oh Maman.” This year, the country will be represented by Zoé Clauzure, who will perform her uplifting track “Cœur.” She was selected through an internal selection process and announced by France Télévisions as the country’s new representative. Could France possibly follow Poland’s example from 2018 and 2019 by securing victory two years in a row?

Zoé will perform her sweet French pop track at Junior Eurovision 2023 in Nice, on November 26th.

France in Junior Eurovision 2023: Zoé Clauzure  with “Cœur”

Zoé is a 13-year-old talent from Montrouge, France. She has already achieved remarkable results in her musical career. In 2020, she participated in The Voice Kids, advancing to the semi-finals of the competition. She’s also had the opportunity to perform duets with well-known French artists such as Amir, who represented France successfully in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

In addition to her singing and dancing abilities, Zoé is a talented pianist, as evident from the music video for her competition track, “Cœur.” She has a series of piano-vocal covers on her main YouTube channel and is also actively involved in songwriting. Beyond her musical pursuits, she is also engaged in modeling.

Some of Zoé’s favorite artists include Zaho de Sagazan, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish. Her greatest passion is to perform live on stage.

What do the “Cœur” lyrics mean?

“Cœur” is an optimistic anthem that speaks about raising your voice. The music video predominantly features the colours red and white, and includes numerous dance moments and interesting group choreography. The song encourages everyone to move forward, gently spreading their wings, and accelerating toward victory, despite what anyone else might say or do.

The chorus focuses on the excitement of singing and performing, highlighting how music brings people together and makes them visible. In her song, Zoé speaks about dreams and emphasises the importance of believing in them. She wants to explore the world, and she wants the world to see her.

France’s song is the optimistic boost that everyone needs, serving as a reminder that you can succeed even when some people are waiting to see you fail, and that victory awaits you. With her sweet voice, Zoé reminds us to dream and to hope.

“Cœur” lyrics – Zoé Clauzure (France JESC 2023)

Lyrics: Noée Francheteau; Music: Julien Comblat & Jérémy Chapron

Je veux y croire ça me hante
C’est pour ça que je chante

Mon cœur bat en rythme
Il palpite si vite
Quand je chante aïe aïe aïe aïe
J’veux que le monde entier

Nous voit exister
Quand je chante aïe aïe aïe aïe
Toi aïe
Ahaah
C’est comme ci comme ça
Aïe aïe aïe aïe

Avance vers la victoire
Plus peur d’aucun de ces regards
Pourtant certains préfèrent te voir échouer mais t’accélères

Je déploie mes ailes doucement
J’le fais pour nous vraiment
Chaque fois que je chante

Mon cœur bat en rythme
Il palpite si vite
Quand je chante aïe aïe aïe aïe
J’veux que le monde entier
Nous voit exister
Quand je chante aïe aïe aïe aïe
Toi aïe
Ahaah

English translation

My heart beats in rhythm
It flutters so fast
When I sing for you, aïe aïe aïe aïe
I want the whole world
To see us exist
When I sing aïe aïe aïe aïe

I get up to see the world
I rise, I dream, my heart is filled
It drags on, I watch the clock, I want it to stop, and I show it

I look at my dreams all the time
I want to believe in them, it haunts me
That’s why I sing

My heart beats in rhythm
It flutters so fast
When I sing aïe aïe aïe aïe
I want the whole world

To see us exist
When I sing aïe aïe aïe aïe
You, aïe
Ahaah
It’s like this, like that
aïe aïe aïe aïe

Advance towards victory
No more afraid of any of those looks
Yet some prefer to see you fail, but you accelerate

I spread my wings gently
I do it for us, really
Every time I sing

My heart beats in rhythm
It flutters so fast
When I sing aïe aïe aïe aïe
I want the whole world
To see us exist
When I sing aïe aïe aïe aïe
You, aïe
Ahaah
It’s like this, like that, aïe aïe aïe aïe
You, aïe
Ahaah
It’s like this, like that, aïe aïe aïe aïe

My heart beats in rhythm
It flutters so fast
Our hearts beat in rhythm
Our hearts beat too fast
For you, yeah

(Our hearts beat in rhythm, our hearts beat so fast)

I want the whole world
To see us exist
When I sing aaaaah aaaaah
It’s like this, it’s like that
Aahhhh I sing for you
