Switzerland accepting song submissions for Eurovision 2026

Posted on 9 August 2025 By Admin No Comments on Switzerland accepting song submissions for Eurovision 2026

Switzerland – the land of clocks, chocolate, and three Eurovision wins to date – is known for its timeliness. To no one’s surprise, the country’s preparations for Eurovision 2026 are of course well on their way. SRG SSR, the country’s collective group of four broadcasters (SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR), is now accepting song submissions for next year’s competition in Austria while the host city is being decided.

SRG SSR opened its window for song submissions on 4 August. The window will close on 25 August 2025, 23:00 CET.

In keeping with tradition, SRF SSR is looking for “a modern, striking song that complies with international requirements.” Artists can submit up to five song entries each and lyrics can be in any language. However, the songs must not have been published in whole or in part before 1 September 2025.

Switzerland to select Eurovision 2026 entry through internal selection

As in past years, the broadcaster will select its Eurovision entry for 2026 through an internal selection. Once all submissions have been received, the song entry will be selected by “a national and international panel of viewers and an international jury of 25 experts after a quality check over several stages.”

While artists do not need to be Swiss in order to represent the country, the broadcaster will give preference to Swiss citizens and residents in the event of a tie during the internal selection process.

Artists also have to meet a usual set of criteria, including:

  • At least 16 years old as of 1 May 2026
  • Being available for rehearsals starting in January 2026 and for promotional activities between February to May 2026
  • Be able to perform the song live

You can read the full list of rules on SRF’s official submission website.

Who should represent Switzerland in Eurovision 2026? Can they beat Zoë Më’s placement in Basel? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
