Summer is the quiet period for Eurovision fans as we wait for the new season to commence. Thankfully, the music will always continue and a number of Eurovision artists are still producing new songs for us to enjoy.
Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.
Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

Marco Mengoni feat. Sayf & Rkomi – “Sto bene al mare”
Marco Mengoni has a summer tune for us… though not in the way you’d normally expect. “Sto bene al mare” (“I’m fine at the seaside”) doesn’t focus on the party spirit, but instead takes on a deeper meaning. Italy’s two-time Eurovision representative is joined by Sayf and Rkomi for the song, the meaning of which is explained further in a press release:
“‘Sto bene al mare’ is an atypical summer song . In fact, although the title takes us towards the typical carefreeness of vacations, the lyrics move on a thin line between lightness and depth. Marco Mengoni’s voice intertwines with Sayf and Rkomi’s verses, giving life to a dialogue that starts from the most classic summer imagery to tell something deeper: the sense of disorientation, the forced detachment from what is known, the tension between the idea of freedom and the reality of an unchosen change. The sea thus becomes the centre of a disillusioned and current reflection that invites us to also think about those who are on the other side of the sea, those who do not experience the expanse of water as joy and vacation.”
Guy Sebastian – “Cupid”
Cupid has some explaining to do. The Roman god is known for inspiring love stories and connecting partners. But Australia’s Guy Sebastian has a complaint about some of the mythical character’s latest work.
The Eurovision 2015 star has unveiled a new soul-pop ballad in which he notes the arrow Cupid shot didn’t hit its mark: “I put my trust in Cupid / I guess I must be stupid / He went and shot an arrow / Straight into a black hole / I done fell head over feet / And gave her all of me / If this is how he knew it would end / I’m never gonna trust cupid again.”
Manizha – “Беги”
Ever since she graced the stage at Eurovision 2021, Manizha has always been an advocate of women and the power they have. This message continues with her newest single “Беги” (“Run”), which she worked on with producers in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
In the lyrics, Manizha details the differing experiences of men and women. She notes how the former are treated to a higher standard from the get go: “We were brought up like that, they say / You have to look after the boy / Praise him, wipe his ass / Protect him like a mother.” Meanwhile, despite being just as worthy, women are raised to live in men’s shadows: “Don’t do more than he can / Be careful in expressions / We can endure for a long time out of love / But if the limit is reached, then run.”
Blanka & Malik Montana – “Wracam”
Up until now, Eurovision 2023 contestant Blanka has always sung in English. But that changes with the release of Polish-language single “Wracam” (“I’m coming back”), which is a collaboration with rapper Malik Montana.
In the lyrics, the pair discuss their on-off relationship: “But I come back to leave / Then I leave to return again / I forgive again, I believe in what you say / Later I pour out my sorrows because of it / You turn my world upside down, I’ve had enough of arguing / Does that mean I’m stupid? / Because I let you come back to me / But without you I start to suffocate.”
Mae Muller – “In My Head”
“In my head, I hate it here / 3 A.M., I hate it here / I think too much, don’t do enough, it’s getting weird.”
Mae Muller is trying to quieten the voice in her mind. The UK’s Eurovision 2023 star uses her latest pop single as a self-note to shake things up and stop letting the doubts sink in. Writing about the song on social media, Muller said:
“i wrote this song like a diary entry, i had spent days in the house feeling sorry for myself, scrolling on my phone, feeling every insecurity i try so hard to suppress, and i thought I NEEEED TO GET THIS OUT OF MY BODY! so i went to the studio, word vomited, and felt a lot better. it was very freeing and honestly therapeutic. i hope it can be the same for you.”
Sisters On Wire feat. Vaidas Baumila – “Nieko nebijok”
Lithuanian band Sisters On Wire have dropped a new album this week. There’s only one extra featured artist on the LP — Vaidas Baumila. The Eurovision 2015 alumnus joins them for “Nieko nebijok” (“Fear Northing”), providing the second verse: “Fear nothing, in spring the snow melts / I didn’t see your heart break / Don’t say anything, everything has already been said / A storm is gathering, but I really like it, I really like it.”
IOLANDA – “Quando Te Fores Embora”
Portugal’s Eurovision 2024 star has gone through somewhat of a rebrand. Gone is her lowercase name iolanda. Instead, she’s changed her profiles to the bolder IOLANDA.
The first song of this new era is “Quando Te Fores Embora” (“When You Go Away”). A steady ballad, the Portuguese singers notes that this single is the motto for her forthcoming album:
“I wrote it because I got tired of apologizing for existing and because I want to focus on the future. It’s more than a song: it’s a warning to those who didn’t come here on good terms, to go. And to leave everything exactly as they found it when they first arrived. […] Maybe I’m saying goodbye to what I was or to someone I no longer want to have around. Maybe both.”
Ola Salo & Peter Jöback – “Two Of Us”
Eurovision 2007 participant Ola Salo is going on tour this autumn alongside Peter Jöback. The Swedish duo have given us a teaser of what to expect from the show by releasing the the specially written song “Two Of Us.” A retro offering with a rock ‘n’ roll feel to it, the song discusses friendship and the strength of being two: “I’ll be the rat in the race / Falling flat on my face / A disgrace to the whole of the human race / Doesn’t matter at all as long as there’s two of us.”
Marius Bear – When We Get There We’ll Know 2.0
Last year, Marius Bear dropped the EP When We Get There We’ll Know. Now, the Swiss singer has unveiled the 2.0 version. This new record features a completely different set of five songs — including a couple of singles released earlier this year.
Through the EP, the Eurovision 2022 alum showcases the different shades of his indie-pop style. Bear transitions between slower ballads and more uptempo offerings.
Duo Ruut feat. Puuluup – “Vastlalaul”
This week brings a new album by Estonian group Duo Ruut. On track #3 of the LP, “Vastlalaul” (“Counter-song”), the pair combine their female vocals with a male duo — Eurovision 2024 contestants Puuluup. The result is an interesting combination that simultaneously involves balance and juxtaposition.
Rosa López – “Almanjáyar”
Rosa López also has a new song for us this week. Spain’s representative from Eurovision 2002 has shared “Almanjáyar.” It’s a pop offering with an overall laidback feel, yet still has enough of a beat to get you tapping along.
Nina Kraljić & Jane – “Rano je zlato moje”
Nina Kraljić is taking part in the music festival Songs of Podravina and Podravje. The event celebrates the music of the region around the Drava river basin in Croatia and Slovenia. The Eurovision 2016 singer has entered the festival alongside Jane with the song “Rano je zlato moje” (“Early is my gold”), a traditional folk song.
Boris Novković – Zbog nas
Boris Novković enters the summer season with a new album. Zbog nas (Because of us) features nine tracks in total, including the recent singles “Kad on te ostavi” and “Nesanica.” The LP incorporates a mixture of classic soft rock and pop influences.
Pil C & Luca Brassi10x feat. Ben Cristovao – “mám v pi”
Charli xcx got us all living a brat summer in 2024. Now, Slovakian rappers Pil C and Luca Brassi10x hope to do the same in 2025 — the pair have dropped a similarly titled collab album. During track #5, “mám v pi” (“in my pocket”), you’ll hear extra vocals from Czechia’s Eurovision 2021 alum Ben Cristovao.
Aurela Gace, John Van Ride & Johkoba – “Imaginoj”
Aurela Gace is exploring the world of electronic ethno music. On “Imaginoj” (“I imagine”), Albania’s Eurovision 2011 participant joins forces with two music producers — John Van Ride and Johkoba. The trio deliver an intriguing fusion of styles as Gace sings about the thoughts entering her head: “I imagine, Imagine / This divine feeling, never end / I imagine Imagine, I had a thousand lives / With you I live.”
Jerry Heil – “Love Me Hard”
Jerry Heil recently released her new studio album, АРХЕТИПИ. Although it was predominantly in Ukrainian, there was also an English-language bonus track at the end. Ukraine’s Eurovision 2024 star has now shared a music video for “Love Me Hard.” Commenting about the piece, Heil noted:
“I’ve always dreamed of writing music for movies — something gothic, mysterious and deeper than typical pop. And now, I finally did it. I feel like the world is ready, I’m ready, and the Ukrainian music scene is ready to grow with me. ‘Love Me Hard’ is a song you have to watch. Like a film. It was written as a soundtrack for a movie that didn’t exist… so we made one with director Valeriya Fadyeyeva.”
