Is it Love? Loreen explores “the riddle of your heart” in Eurovision follow-up single

Posted on 13 October 2023 By Admin No Comments on Is it Love? Loreen explores “the riddle of your heart” in Eurovision follow-up single
It’s out. And it’s yours. Those were Loreen’s words on Instagram as she finally celebrated the release of “Is It Love,” her Eurovision follow-up single.
As ever, Loreen sought to meld pop with art. Describing the song she says:

“’Is It Love’ was born from a place of seeking clarity, it’s a song describing and contemplating a love that’s so deep but at the same time filled with confusion.”

“It’s about realising that to create a deeper understanding of yourself you need to accept the duality of life, that distortion and clarity goes hand in hand and are equally as important.”

“And to experience the depth of true love, both to the self as well as to others, you have to accept and experience the depth of pain.”

As with “Tattoo” and “Euphoria,” Loreen’s powerful voice reigns over cinematic production. During the contemplative verses she admits to “workin’ on the riddle of your heart” as she’s “lost you in the maze.” And then her plea, which can only be answered by a question: “Now let me out. Is it love?” It all swells into a Sia-like chorus.

The track is written by MTHR (”Can’t Tame Her” – Zara Larsson, “Better Days” – Neiked) together with Dag Lundberg (”Where Are You Now” – Lost Frequencies) and Maia Wright (Armin Van Buuren, Gryffin NOTD). The vocal production is made by Albin Nedler (Harry Styles, Sam Smith, Selena Gomez), and mix engineer Josh Gudwin (Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Justin Bieber).

Loreen is set to embark on a sold-out UK & European tour this winter, kicking off in Dublin on 7 November with shows in Glasgow on 8 November, and London’s Electric Brixton on 10 November with a further 15 stops across Europe before wrapping on 5 December in Paris, France.

With stage visuals designed by Tobias Rylander whose previous work includes lighting design for Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour and Loreen’s very own Eurovision-winning performance of “Tattoo”, the show promises to be a completely immersive experience, mimicking Loreen’s personal ethics of prioritising connections with fans, nature, spirituality, and music.

Is It Love lyrics — Loreen

You’ll find me in the echo of the dark
Workin’ on the riddle of your heart
Lost you in the maze, now let me out
Is it love, is it love, is it love?

Without a warning, we got a sign
Will you call me or will you hide?
There’s a shadow in my mind
How do I know it?
Is it love?

Tell me, what in your heart am I now?
Is it love? Is it love? Is it love?
Tell me, what do you feel in the night?
Is it love? Is it love? Is it love?
Is it love?
Is it love?
Tell me, how do you sleep when I’m right by your side?
Is it love? Is it love? Is it love?

You’ll find me in the middle of the sea
Drownin’ in the words that we don’t speak
Bring me out, don’t leave me in the deep
Is it love, is it love, is it love?

Without a warning, without a sign
Will you call me or will you hide?
There’s a shadow in my mind
How do I know it?
Is it love?

Tell me, what in your heart am I now?
Is it love? Is it love? Is it love?
Tell me, what do you feel in the night?
Is it love? Is it love? Is it love?
Is it love?
Is it love?
Tell me, how do you sleep when I’m right by your side?
Is it love? Is it love? Is it love?
