Esa diva! Melody revamps Spain’s Eurovision 2025 song

Posted on 14 March 2025 By Admin No Comments on Esa diva! Melody revamps Spain’s Eurovision 2025 song

Spain’s Eurovision 2025 representative, Melody, has been keeping busy since her victory at Benidorm Fest in early February. From dazzling at glamorous events like the Goya Awards and the Drag Queen Gala at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival to preparing for the big stage in Basel, she’s been making every moment count.

Now, after weeks of anticipation, the wait is finally over — RTVE has unveiled the revamped version of “Esa Diva”, which Melody will perform at Eurovision this May. With a more international sound and a brand new music video, this updated take is ready for your playlists.

Melody – “Esa Diva” (Spain Eurovision 2025)

The new version of “Esa Diva” builds on a refreshed musical foundation while staying true to its original melody. Its more vibrant production steadily builds towards a high-energy climax, giving the song a renewed dynamism. This time, the production is led by EIGHTY4 and Rick Parkhouse & George Tizzard of Red Triangle Records, shifting away from the original work of Thomas G:son & Peter Boström. Known for their collaborations with Måneskin and Camila Cabello, Rick and George bring a fresh international edge to the track.

Meanwhile, Guillem Vila Borràs has reimagined the song’s introduction, adding a classic Spanish flare and captivating touch right from the start.

As RTVE explains, the goal behind Melody’s revamped version is to create a more international sound without losing the essence of her Benidorm Fest performance. Melody herself believes the updated “Esa Diva” is even stronger, both melodically and vocally, and with these changes, they’ve taken the song’s potential to new heights.

“The intro feels more personal, more intimate for each listener,” she said. Regarding the song’s finale, she adds, “We go all out, breaking through with full energy while staying true to ourselves, maintaining that essence that defines us.”

Make sure to pay attention to the official video. Spain’s Head of Delegation, Ana María Bordas, has revealed that the Eurovision staging will take the performance even further, closely aligned with the music video to ensure “continuity with everything we’ve done so far.”

Melody’s Eurovision team has also changed

New version, new squad.

Melody’s artistic and dance team have undergone a major transformation ahead of Eurovision. Mario Ruiz, who directed the official video for “Esa Diva,” now takes charge of her artistic direction, replacing Pizarro Studio, the creative force behind her Benidorm Fest performance.

The dance team has also evolved, shifting from an all-male lineup to a mixed ensemble. New dancers Álex Bullón, Vicky Gómez, and Ana Acosta have joined the crew, as they also feature in her just premiered official video. However, this change also means saying goodbye to Hrisio Busarov, Daniel Arango, and Jesús Bolívar, who were part of Melody’s winning performance at Benidorm Fest.

While all three have shown support for Melody and the new team, they recently expressed disappointment on social media over being left out of the final lineup.

What do you think of the revamped “Esa Diva”? Could this version help Spain achieve its best Eurovision result yet? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
