Who are Electro Velvet?
Electro Velvet is made up of Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas. The British pair represented The UK at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna, with “Still In Love With You”. This was a vibrant and sweet ode to old-timey music mixed with modern elements. The song was a couple’s back-and-forth love song, that was largely famous for it’s light-up performance.
The staging was styled to a Gatsby party, with outfits of that period. But then came the lighting situation! Each outfit had strip lights sewn in, so in the more”electro” parts of the song, Alex and Bianca would light up, to showcase their choreo and set.
Whilst the result wasn’t what they were hoping for in Vienna, they’ve gone on to become a cult classic to UK Eurofans. “Still In Love With You” is a firm karaoke favourite. It is a delightfully ironic sing-a-long session for many; we’re sure Here At Outernet will br full of the crowd attempting the scat vocal section!
