Portugal: Fernando Daniel tops our Festival da Canção 2025 poll

Posted on 21 February 2025 By Admin No Comments on Portugal: Fernando Daniel tops our Festival da Canção 2025 poll

This weekend sees the return of Festival da Canção for its 2025 edition. Over three weeks, Portugal is set to select its entry for Eurovision out of the 20 competing artists.

Ever since the songs were unveiled, we’ve been collecting your votes as you told us your favourites amongst the line-up.

A total of 3,198 votes were cast. And now it’s time to reveal the results…

Fernando Daniel is a favourite to win Festival da Canção 2025

The top spot in our poll is reserved for Fernando Daniel. The Voice Portugal alum earned a solid lead with his song “Medo,” receiving a third of all the votes — that’s 1,077 to be specific.

Fernando previously came fifth at Festival da Canção 2017 (won by eventual Eurovision champion Salvador Sobral). Could this be the year he finally takes the trophy himself?

A commendable second place is awarded to JOSH. The signer has captured the attention of many with his hauntingly beautiful ballad “Tristeza.” Even with the silver medal, JOSH still managed to secure over a fifth of the votes, picking up 715.

The other big favourite in this poll is Henka. The alternative musician certainly stands out in the competition thanks to her entry “I Wanna Destroy U.” There were 572 people who put their weight behind her, which equates to 17.89% of the vote.
