Although we’re officially into the Eurovision 2025 season, it will still be some time before we hear any national final and Eurovision songs. Thankfully, the music will always continue and a number of Eurovision artists are still producing new songs for us to enjoy.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2024 | Week 38

Brunette – “No Energy”

Let’s kick off this week’s round-up with a track from Brunette, who represented Armenia last year. Despite its title, “No Energy” is anything but low-energy, it’s a full-on party anthem. Brunette performed the song live before, and a few days ago, she ran a poll asking her followers to choose her next release. They picked “No Energy,” and honestly, we couldn’t agree more. It’s a banger and, ironically, a total energy booster.

The lyrics are about feeling drained but still showing up to a party, symbolizing how we keep pushing through life even when we’re exhausted, pretending everything’s fine: “There is no strength in my body / I go quietly to the party / No energy in my body / I just pulled up to the party.” The music video is just as captivating, totally hypnotic.

Emma & Baby Gang – “HANGOVER”

Emma represented Italy in 2014, and since then, she’s competed numerous times in the Festival di Sanremo, delivering great songs with each appearance. Her newest track is a dance song in collaboration with Baby Gang, and it’s the first single from her upcoming album, which drops on October 4th.

In the music video, Emma and Baby Gang harmonize not just in their voices and styles, but even in a chess game. The song explores the complexities of a relationship, capturing the feeling of missing your ex without admitting it. The lyrics go: “And I’m short of breath / And I miss riding a motorbike in two in a storm / But what do I miss you for? / I don’t miss you, but I miss the dog / And you don’t want to believe me, you think it’s impossible / You almost make me laugh.”

Tina Karol – Лірика

Ukrainian music sensation Tina Karol, who represented her country at Eurovision in 2006, is enjoying a great moment in her career. Not only has she become the newest music producer for Vidbir, Ukraine’s national selection for Eurovision, but she also just dropped a new album titled Lyrics (the English translation). The album features 8 tracks, all sung in Ukrainian.

The opening track, “Адреналін” (Adrenaline), makes a powerful first impression with its sensuality. “Відчиняю” (I’m Opening), which was previously released as a single, became a huge hit. The album also includes a collaboration with SHUMEI on the track “Дзвони” (Call). It wraps up with an acoustic version of “Що ти наробила” (What Did You Do), which can also be heard in its original version earlier on the album. One standout track is “Попелюшка” (Cinderella), one of the best dance tracks on the record.

About the release of her new album, Tina stated:

My heart beats in a new rhythm. It’s about the freedom of emotions and the power of change, and music is the source of our confidence.

Achille Lauro – “Amore Disperato”

Italian star Achille Lauro, famous for his unforgettable Sanremo performances, also represented San Marino in Eurovision 2022. His latest release, “Desperate Love” (the English title), is a powerful ballad where Achille pours out a piece of his heart, as the song is based on a true love story.

Alongside his emotional vocals, the song features a rich instrumental arrangement, even incorporating an orchestra. The lyrics tell the story of a love that can only be truly understood by the two people involved: “What do others know about living like us, really. / Always and forever, wherever we are.”

Regarding the song, Achille said:

It’s a song that I care a lot about because it tells a true story born on the edge of the ring road of Rome, in Via Tina Pica.

Fudasca feat. Francesca Michielin, Tredici Pietro & Mecna – “Immagina”

Staying within the Italian music scene, let’s talk about a new track featuring Francesca Michielin. She represented Italy in Eurovision 2016 and has made several appearances at Sanremo since (even as a conductor of the orchestra). As always, her soft yet powerful voice captivates us.

The song, “Imagine” (its English title), blends rock vibes with Italian rap, while Francesca’s vocals on the chorus tie everything together perfectly. It’s a unique combination that you definitely need to check out. The track is by Fudasca, and alongside Francesca, it also features Tredici Pietro and Mecna.

Ben Cristovao – SPEKTRUM

After releasing several singles, Ben Cristovao has finally dropped his newest album, and as the title suggests, it’s a spectrum of great music. Ben was originally selected to represent his country in Eurovision 2020, but with the contest canceled due to the pandemic, he made a strong comeback in 2021.

The album includes 12 tracks (one being an intro), all in Czech, offering a mix of dance, pop, and rap—basically a little bit of everything. The opening track, “Motherf*cker,” sets a high standard right from the start.

There are also several collaborations: Paulie Garand on “Krásnej Den” (Beautiful Day), Annabelle on “Lajf” (Life), Mirai & David Koller on “Heartbreaker,” Ondřej Fiedler & David Koller on “Dokonalý Pár” (Perfect Couple), Anna Vaverková on “Člověk”(Human) and Richard Müller on “Nekonečno” (Infinity). These show off Ben’s artistic versatility. But no one describes the album better than Ben himself:

I don’t want to be modest, I believe that I’m on my way to show that one day I’ll be the most versatile artist in the Czech Republic (…) There’s none of the trendy music that people might expect, but the album will surprise you all the more if you listen from start to finish , there will be things that you don’t even know you like.

Olivia Newton-John, Il Volo & Jim Brickman – “My Dream”

Also from Italy, we have Il Volo, who captured the hearts of Eurovision fans in 2015 and have graced the Sanremo stage since. Their latest release, however, is not in Italian. It’s a special collaboration with Jim Brickman, featuring the vocals of the late Olivia Newton-John, who represented the UK at Eurovision 1974.

The story behind the song is quite touching—Jim Brickman discovered a cassette with a vocal performance from his long-time friend, Olivia. In collaboration with Il Volo, he restored the song and released it. All proceeds from the track go to support Olivia’s foundation, association that supports and help people suffering from cancer.

Sertab Erener – “Sen İste”

It’s always a good time for some Turkish music, especially while hoping for their return to Eurovision. Sertab, who competed in 2003 with an unforgettable performance, has just released a new song called “You Want It.” It’s a romantic and sensual track, so if you’re in the mood for a love song, this one’s worth a listen.

The lyrics are seductive, telling the story of a blossoming romance and a late-night rendezvous: “You want it / I won’t look for someone else / You want it / Take the key to my house.” As for the music video, if you’re a fan of Charli XCX’s collaboration with Billie Eilish on “Guess,” you’ll find similar visuals here, and by this we mean lots of lingerie and a sultry vibe.

Next on our list is a fascinating collaboration. Nuit Incolore, an up-and-coming Swiss artist, recently teamed up with Loïc Nottet, who represented Belgium in Eurovision 2015. Their collaboration is deep and powerful, with their voices blending perfectly to give listeners chills.

The lyric video creatively features various apps and platforms for writing and texting, reflecting the song’s title, “We Will Write (to Each Other).” This track is the first single from Nuit Incolore’s upcoming release. The two artists met in Belgium and spent a few days at Loïc’s house, where they wrote the song together.

Hodak feat. Alicja & 2K – “Jutro”

For rap music fans, there’s a Polish song called “Tomorrow,” featuring Hodak, 2k, and Alicja, who was set to compete in Eurovision for her country in 2020 before the contest was canceled. The track blends powerful rap with Alicja’s sweet vocals, creating an interesting contrast as they sing about what tomorrow will bring. It’s definitely worth a listen!

NAVIBAND – “Арыён”

Indie vibes with retro influences are always a great addition to any playlist, and NAVIBAND, who competed in Eurovision in 2017, delivers just that with their latest track. The song is called “Orion” and has a cosmic feel to it.

The lyrics convey a journey of self-discovery amidst confusion: “Dive / Don’t lose speed / I’m not myself / Look, Orion is lighting up for us.” Under the protective glow of Orion, the song explores the path to finding yourself again when you feel lost. It also comes with a lyric video that complements the theme beautifully.

And now for something dreamy from Kristína, who represented Slovakia in Eurovision in 2010. Her latest song, “I Dream,” is a boost of confidence packed into a pop track infused with EDM and electronic influences. It’s the perfect club banger, delivering an uplifting dose of optimism that will get you moving.

372Kaspar, korea & pluuto feat. Elina Born – “Hasart”

The next track on our list is sure to delight rap fans, bringing together two epic rappers, 372Kaspar and korea & pluuto, alongside Elina, who blows us away with her powerful vocals. Elina, known for representing Estonia in Eurovision in 2015 with Stig Rasta, adds a special touch to the song titled “Gamble.”

The music video features a striking mix of vibrant colors and black-and-white visuals. The song draws a parallel between life and a gambling game, emphasizing that you have to take risks to win: “This life has left many marks / You only live once, you gamble / This life passes quickly while waiting here, / You know my soul needs a gamble.”

The Starlings – Up All Night

Back in 2010, Tom Dice (along with his guitar) represented Belgium in Eurovision. Now, he performs as part of The Starlings with his wife, Kato Callebaut. This week, the duo released their third album, featuring a collection of songs about love, joy, and big dreams yet to be fulfilled.

The album contains 10 tracks and opens with “Rollercoaster,” the song they competed with in last year’s Belgian national selection. “Up All Night” sets a vibrant tone, while the album also includes heartfelt ballads like “Supernova,” creating a wonderful balance. The duo collaborates with Ozark Henry on the track “Under Your Spell.”

Tracks like “Multidão” (Crowd) and “Dança Comigo” (Dance with Me) will make you dance right away to the best Portuguese beats. Her Eurovision song, “Ai Coração” (Oh Heart), is also featured on the album. “Peito” (Chest) was released earlier and has already enjoyed great success.

The album includes numerous collaborations: with Tatanka on “Domingo” (Sunday), with Matay on “Lama” (Mud), with Catana on “Dozer Por Dizer” (Dozing Off Just to Say), and on “Fair Trade” with Diana Castro, Elisa Rodrigues, Joana Alegre, and Luísa Sobra.

In addition to her album, she also released a music video for “No Teu Lugar” (In Your Place). This powerful ballad showcases Mimicat’s voice perfectly, bringing some old-school Hollywood star glam to her cinematic black-and-white music video. The song speaks about discovering another woman who shares the same man, and while shocked, she plans to leave: “But no, she existed at the same time as me / And she knew and I didn’t / But what possessed you / To ruin everything / What happened to us.” Further along in the lyrics, she promises that by the time he comes back, someone else will be in his place.

About the writing process of the album, Mimicat said:

(The album is) Written with a lot of love, a lot of truth, a lot of fears, frustrations, overcoming, faith, hunger and desire.
