Country Music Star Ian Munsick Credits His Wife as Being the ‘Brains’ Behind His Cowboy-Inspired Style Choices

When country star Ian Munsick needs style advice before hitting the stage for a show-stopping performance, he doesn’t need to look far.

The singer, 31, shared how his family influences his cowboy-esque wardrobe with ET while celebrating his partnership with Boot Barn, the nation’s leading western and work wear retailer.

Boot Barn

“Boot Barn does such a great job of bringing authenticity to their brand. … I think that’s incredibly important for a company that caters to the working cowboy,” the Wyoming native says.

So it’s no surprise that Munsick’s genuine love of western wear goes way back.

“My sense of style comes from the way I was raised. … When you’re born on a ranch in Wyoming as the youngest of three, boots and hats are pretty much attached to your feet and head. … The combination of ranch life and western music is woven into my DNA, and my style reflects that,” he explains.

Some of his go-to looks: “A cowboy hat with my prized Golden Eagle feather that was given to me after I was adopted into the Crow Tribe, some kind of vintage western print shirt complete with a bolo tie, a leather tooled belt with one of the many buckles I’ve amassed over the years, Wrangler jeans, and cowboy boots.”

He adds, “I’m a big bolo guy. Both my granddads had amazing bolo collections that my parents passed down to my brothers and me.”

But when he wants to take a fashion risk, the hitmaker relies on his wife, Caroline, for tips.

“My wife, Caroline, is really the brains behind my style. She is a huge Elvis fan and loves the ’70s. She finds all my vintage shirts and has an amazing eye for tasteful style with a touch of flair. She’s the eyes, I’m the ears,” he notes.

While Munsick isn’t afraid to experiment with his closet staples, there are some accessories he steers clear of.

“The country music world is full of trends and is ever changing both sonically and stylistically, but I’ve always prided myself on staying true to who I am,” the “Long Live Cowgirls” crooner shares.

“Obviously, I’m not gonna wear chaps and spurs on stage, but if we’re working cows, I’ll throw them on. I’ve never been a big scarf guy unless it’s cold out, but the older I get, the more I like them.”
