“Money is at work here”: Dr. Komarovsky’s sensational interview that reveals who, how and at whose expense treats wounded defenders

The truth, which is not publicized, is that the state provides UAH 2 million for prosthetics. This includes payment for the prosthesis, disability payments and other expenses, while only a surgical package is provided for the preservation of arms and legs – UAH 8,635.
What is needed to save a limb and who helps defenders return to the society for which they shed their blood – the initiator of the national program #SaveAlimb, Serhiy Soshynsky, together with Dr. Komarovsky, will open a topic that no one has ever discussed before.

You will find out from the interview:

  • What shocks the whole world and what the Ukrainian media do not talk about?
  • How to fight mass amputations in Ukraine?
  • The state spends huge sums of money – UAH 2 million on prosthetics, but only UAH 8,635 on limb preservation. Why is this?
  • Why are there fees for prostheses if they are provided by the state?
  • Limb preservation can significantly reduce the number of people with disabilities in Ukraine.
  • How do philanthropists make changes in history and fight against the disability of Ukrainians?
  • How can every ordinary citizen change the situation?

This interview is a step towards changes in the consciousness of our nation and a key to understanding the problem that everyone can face in Ukraine – injuries caused by military operations. After all, both military and civilians are injured.

It should be noted that only 4-25% of the needs for the treatment of “war trauma” are covered by the state under the medical guarantees program. At present, the NHSU has only a “surgical” package, which provides for an amount of UAH 8,635. These funds are used to cover the costs of treatment, room and board, meals, laundry, surgical services of doctors and nurses, and operating room equipment. Currently, there are no separate “trauma” or “orthopedic” packages.
The guest of the program, philanthropist Serhiy Soshynsky, has focused his efforts on helping those who suffered from war injuries. The national program #SaveAlimb by the Health of the Ukrainian People Foundation has become a breakthrough in the treatment of wounded soldiers and civilians with severe injuries to their arms and legs.
At the same time, it turned out to be necessary to provide plates, screws and other implants, as well as internal prostheses. The big problem is that almost no one in society raises or addresses this huge issue.
According to experts, the expected number of people with amputated limbs is an impressive figure – from 17,000 to 22,600. The program aims to reduce this number.
Within the framework of the #SaveAlimb program, it is planned to perform 15,000 to 40,000 surgeries within one to three years. The cost of a saved limb is on average UAH 45,721, and the national program is financing these costs.
