Benson Boone cancels gig at last minute
Benson Boone has cancelled his Birmingham concert about an hour before it was scheduled to start due to illness.
In a statement posted on his Instagram account, the US singer-songwriter apologised to fans and said he had “tried everything” to revive his voice, but he would not be able to perform the show he wanted to due to the “condition of my throat”.
Boone was set to perform at the city’s Utilita Arena on Saturday evening as part of his American Heart Tour.
The singer added he was working with his team to find a date to reschedule as soon as possible.
“I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you”, he said.
In a statement the Utilita Arena also confirmed the cancellation of the gig and said it was “working through all possible options to reschedule”.
“We understand how disappointing this is and sincerely apologise for the extremely short notice and inconvenience caused,” the statement added.
Boone is yet to confirm if he will perform his next three dates in London starting on Monday, that were due to bring the UK leg of his tour to a close.
