Could Loïc Nottet return to Eurovision 2026 for Belgium?

Posted on 4 September 2025 By Admin No Comments on Could Loïc Nottet return to Eurovision 2026 for Belgium?

It may only be a matter of time before Belgium claims its second Eurovision victory. And with growing rumours of a Loïc Nottet return to the Eurovision stage just in time for his 11 year anniversary since his last appearance, fans are wondering: should we start packing our bags for Belgium 2027?

Speculation is swirling amongst French media outlets that Belgian broadcaster RTBF has internally selected the 2014 ‘Voice Belgique’ contestant Nottet to represent the country at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in 2026. This would result in a return to the stage where he stunned Europe a decade prior with his 2015 entry ‘Rhythm Inside’ which garnered points from 36 countries and earned Belgium a remarkable 4th place, launching Nottet into a Number One spot in the Flanders and Wallonia Ultratop charts alongside broader international recognition.

Comeback stars for Belgium

While there’s been no official confirmation from either RTBF or Nottet himself, Eurovision fans across the globe are already buzzing in anticipation. Many are envisioning a dramatic and classic Nottet comeback, complete with his signature addictive electropop beats, theatrical flawless choreography, and immersive staging. Funnily enough, he would be returning to Eurovision for a special anniversary edition, hosted in Vienna. Maybe he can do even better than his 4th place finish from back then?

The speculation comes days after Eurovision 2009 star Hadise told Turkish journalist Fatih Altayli that the Belgian broadcasters ask her to particpate for her birth country every year. Hadise of course represented Turkey in 2009 with her ethno-pop banger “Düm Tek Tek”. With both options being iconic contest performers, could we get a huge comeback moment in 2026?

How to get over 2 NQs

Belgium’s only Eurovision win came in 1986 with 13-year-old Sandra Kim’s bubblegum-pop anthem ‘J’aime la Vie’. Since then, the country has unsuccessfully fought to achieve their second win, as the last two years brought disappointment: with neither Mustii’s ‘Before the Party’s Over’ nor Red Sebastian’s ‘Strobe Lights’ qualifying for the Grand Final.

Now, fans are putting their faith in Nottet to lead a Belgian renaissance in the song contest. Known for his magnetic stage presence and polished performances, he remains one of the contest’s most memorable modern acts. As the 2026 contest approaches, Eurofans are devotedly broadcasting their support online, hopeful that a decade after his iconic debut, Loïc Nottet will once again rise from the smoke—and lead Belgium to Eurovision glory.
