New music this week: Songs from Tommy Cash, Ivana Boom Nikolic, Daði Freyr and more

Posted on 24 August 2025 By Admin No Comments on New music this week: Songs from Tommy Cash, Ivana Boom Nikolic, Daði Freyr and more

Summer is the quiet period for Eurovision fans as we wait for the new season to commence. Thankfully, the music will always continue and a number of Eurovision artists are still producing new songs for us to enjoy.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 34

Tommy Cash – “Ok”

Despite hailing from Estonia, Tommy Cash was living the Mediterranean lifestyle at Eurovision. He’s been continuing to learn his new adopted language and has now released a song entirely in Italian. “Ok” is a simple yet catchy track that sees the star practicing his pronouns: “Io ok, tu ok / Lei ok, lui ok / Noi ok, voi ok / Quindi tutti quanti ok” (“Me ok, you ok / She ok, he ok / We ok, you ok / So everyone okay”).

The song utilises the sounds of a retro phone to bring a sense of nostalgia.

Kiaro (AM) feat. Brunette – “404: Love Not Found”

Electronic artist Kiaro (AM) has brought Eurovision 2023 star Brunette on board for a brand new song. The result is “404: Love Not Found.” It’s a progressive house offering that mixes melodic instrumentation with ethereal vocal lines.

Ivana Boom Nikolic & Igor Buzov – “Budva”

Ivana Boom Nikolic (Serbia Eurovision 2021) and Igor Buzov clearly enjoy making music together. This is the third song they’ve released together this year. With “Budva,” the two of them deliver a trap song that aims to keep the summer vibes going a little longer — there’s plenty of sun and sea in the accompanying video.

In her part of the chorus, Ivana sings: “Like Benga driving me, like mother guarding me / Like money spending me, like bad move me / Call me at two, I’m hot as Budva / Blow me off my feet like the wind in my hair.”

Blas Cantó & Adri Torron – “a la luna”

Blas Cantó brought the moon to Eurovision 2021 and he’s still singing to the natural satellite four years later. This time though, the Spanish musician is joined by Adri Torron. The duo bring us a piano-led ballad about loves that never were, but which deserve to be given a chance at least once in a lifetime: “For you, I made a thousand wishes to the moon and the stars / For you, I would draw our name like a child until you come back / Because you are my religion.”

Daði Freyr – “Me and You”

The sophomore single from Daði Freyr’s upcoming album is “Me and You.” A groovy track that incorporates some funky brass at the end, there’s plenty of opportunity to shake that booty — in tandem with the Icelandic musician.

In the lyrics, the Eurovision 2021 star has an epiphany that it’s sometimes best to seek help from those with differing viewpoints in order to find the best solution to move forward: “I’m finally starting to realise / I don’t always know / Sometimes it’s better looking through your eyes / If you lend me your hand / There’s nothing that we couldn’t do / No way to misunderstand / After everything we’ve been through / Me and you.”

MELOVIN & Lama – “Мені так треба Вітрила!”

This isn’t just a duet, it’s a fusion of artistry. Eurovision 2018 star MELOVIN has teamed up with fellow Ukrainian singer Lama. Instead of creating a brand new song, the pair have taken two of their previous solo hits and merged them together — MELOVIN’s “Вітрила” and Lama’s “Мені так треба” now becomes  “Мені так треба Вітрила!” (“I really need sails”).

The new chorus reads as follows: “You are my sails, my music / Weightless wings lift me into the sky / Two parts of the heart – you and I together / And I will not be, and there is no me without you.”

Mike Demero feat. EMMY – “Losing Myself”

DJ Mike Demero has long wanted to collaborate with EMMY. Whilst she was a bit busy earlier this year representing Ireland at Eurovision, the pair have now been able to join forces. They’ve shared the spiritual EDM track “Losing Myself” for your party playlists.

Tijana Bogicevic – “Stihija”

“Stihija” now has a double Eurovision connection. The song was first released by two-time participant Željko Joksimović. Now, Serbia’s 2017 representative, Tijana Bogicevic, has recorded a cover of the ballad, the title of which translates to “Element.” This release is particularly personal for Tijana, as she explains under the music video:

“‘Stihija’ is one of the songs in which my mother found comfort in her last days. She was hoping to hear me sing to her, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to fulfil her wish. For a long time, I didn’t have the strength to even hear Željko’s original version, much less to sing it myself. I decided that the anniversary of her leaving us would be that day. For my mom, forever.”

Tanja – “Elu on ilus”

Tanja is bringing summer to a close with the new single “Elu on ilus” (“Life is beautiful”). It’s a mid-tempo summer offering that’s perfect for those last few summer evenings watching the sunset — just as Estonia’s Eurovision 2014 star does herself in the lyric video.

Speaking of the lyrics, Tanja sings of the highs and lows we all experience: “Life is beautiful / Beautiful and painful / Up and down the American mountains / Life is colours / And the days are grey / Life is exactly like this.”

Hanna Pakarinen – “Haudankaivajat”

The story of Miisa-Maria touched many in Finland after the young girl sadly committed suicide at the age of 17 following the bullying she received at school. Eurovision 2007 alumna Hanna Pakarinen has now released a song to honour Miisa, titled “Haudankaivajat” (“Gravediggers”). It’s a rock song in which Pakarinen questions the motives behind those who would treat others so badly: “How many times / Here you have to die to live / Or live from the dying dreams of others / And don’t care even if others fall.”

Miisa was a passionate visual artist, and one of her drawings was used as the cover art for the songs. All proceeds from the song will go to children’s charity We4You.

Tina Karol & NORD DIVISION – “Біль”

NORD DIVISION are a rap group formed of active military personnel in Ukraine, who aim to share the modern history of the nation. This is the second time they’ve collaborated with Eurovision 2006 star Tina Karol, having previously performed together on “Ветерани.”

The new track “Біль” (“Pain”) is a lengthy offering, lasting 14 minutes in total. NORD DIVISION provide numerous rap verses, with Karol singing a repeated chorus in between: “What’s wrong with us? When brother betrays brother.”

Writing on social media about the song, the artists noted: “The pain of loss doesn’t go away, it becomes a part of us. But he is the one who makes us stronger, reminding us what we live and fight for.”

Joost – “Everyday (Everyday)”

Joost brings us the new song “Everyday (Everyday)”. Clocking in at just under two minutes, it’s a short gabber track — but to counterbalance, the Dutch star makes sure the beat is hitting from start to finish. In the lyrics, the Eurovision 2024 alum thinks about the current state of the world and offers some sage advice: “Some people good / And some people are evil / Some people stupid but that is okay / But please don’t be stupid / Every f*cking day.”

Tajči – “Mati moja”

Summer means festival season in Croatia. Tajči, Yugoslavia’s Eurovision 1990 representative, recently took part in Festival kajkavskih popevki — one of Croatia’s oldest music festivals, held in Krapina since 1966. The singer performed “Mati moja” (“My mother”), a soft orchestral ballad dedicated to the maternal guidance and love she was provided.

Stefan Raab & Bully – “Weil wir so supergeil drauf Sind”

If you go to see the new German movie Das Kanu des Manitu, then you’ll hear Stefan Raab on the soundtrack. The Eurovision 2000 participant collaborates with comedian Michael ‘Bully’ Herbig for “Weil wir so supergeil drauf Sind” (“Because we’re so super cool”). The song is described as follows:

“An ode to friendship, positivity, getting up early, and a healthy lifestyle. To funky, old-school hip-hop beats, the OGs of the humor hit, Stefan and Bully, sing and rap about organic beer, getting up at 7 a.m., vegan food, and chilling with their BFFs.”

Mia Dimšić – “S tobom il’ bez tebe” & “Svjetionik”

Lately, Mia Dimšić has been enjoying the sounds of the tamburitza. A folk instrument popular in Croatia, there are festivals and compilations specifically dedicated to music that incorporates it.

The Eurovision 2022 act recently participated in Zlatne žice Slavonije (Golden strings of Slavonia) — the largest tamburitza music festival — with the song “S tobom il’ bez tebe” (“With you or without you”). You’ll also find her voice on the third instalment of Ljepote takve nij (There are no beauties like that), an album featuring tamburitza songs — Mia sings “Svjetionik” (“Lighthouse”).

Which of these new songs is your favourite? Have we missed out on any? Do you have any artists you want to shout out to? Let us know in the comments.
