Ukrainian singer MELANYA presents her EP album Shkoda (Pity) — about freedom, beauty, and the slight danger of a woman who knows her worth. This is the singer’s second album this year, and it is for those who have chosen themselves.
The EP “Shkoda” is the story of a woman who has gone through betrayal, loss, and rethinking, and now looks with irony and a wise smile at everything that once seemed like the end of the world. Each song is a reflection of her transformation: from pain to strength, from disappointment to self-love.
“I created this album for women. For my friends. For those who, like me, once lost themselves in relationships. Who were too convenient, too quiet, too patient. Who put themselves last, forgot about their desires, their voice, their strength. I really want these songs to remind you of your value. Of who you really are. And that being yourself is not selfishness, but love. Love for yourself, which we all have the right to regain,” says MELANYA.
“Shkoda” is not about sadness for the past. It is about the path back to oneself. About a woman who was silent for a long time and then finally said everything — sincerely, directly, loudly. Each song contains a piece of the singer’s personal experience and the experience of thousands of women. This is an album for those who are learning to say ‘no’ to others and “yes” to themselves.
“These songs are about a woman who now looks back on the past with a smile, because she knows that everything she has been through has made her strong, beautiful, and in love with herself. Therefore, my new EP is a soundtrack to female rebirth, when every wound becomes a decoration, and every breakup becomes a step towards the real you,” comments MELANYA.
Along with the release of the EP “Shkoda,” the singer is presenting a video clip for the focus track “Shkoda.” We remind you that MELANYA recently presented the single “Skazhi,” which depicts the story of a person who feels sadness for her beloved every evening, feeling an invisible spiritual connection despite his physical absence.
