New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 30
Remember Monday – “Happier”
We’re getting straight into the summer mood this week, opening our round-up with the lovely ladies from Remember Monday, who represented the United Kingdom in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Summer vibes, joy, colour, and savageness—all packed into a perfect summer hit that’s guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
The song comes with a refreshing and fun music video and speaks about getting over a break-up and feeling even happier: “I’m so happy, I’m happy, I’m happy, I’m happy-happy/ I’m happy you’re gone, do what you want/ Baby, I’m the only one that’s turnin’ me on.” Of course, there are some delicious traces of revenge, as in the lines: “If you’re wonderin’ who keyed your car last night/ And slashed the tires on your brand new bike/ I know it’s wrong but it felt so right/ And I did it with a smile.” Alongside the amazing vocals and flawless harmonies, expect a good dose of sarcasm too: “You said we should stay friends at the end (I’ll think about it)/ Well, I’d rather break both of my legs.”
Marko Bosnjak – “Villain”
Also from this year’s Eurovision line-up, we have Marko, who represented Croatia. His new song carries a strong dark pop vibe and explores the concept of becoming “the villain”—as described in the opening text of the music video, which reflects on how people who once loved him ended up hating him. The black-and-white video is a montage of clips from classic films, with the lyrics displayed throughout, creating a cinematic and emotionally charged experience. The lyrics say: “I’ll steal a wedding cake/ And eat it right in front of the bride/ Blurred lines/ Lemme get drunk on church wine (…) I can be a villain if it turns you on/ You can be the victim if you wanna uh uh, uh/ Can be the sinner that you hate to love, to love, to love, to love.” According to Marko, every story needs a villain—and he’s more than ready to play the part.
He explained the meaning of his song:
“They called me a villain for being loud. Emotional. Queer. Unfiltered. For not fitting in the standard definition of what a man is supposed to be. For not hiding. For not shrinking. For never backing down. I hurt no one but still got dragged like i did. So fine. I’ll be the villain. At least i know i was real the whole time. This one’s for the ones who feel too much and refuse to shut up about it.”
Nigar Jamal – “Axtarmasan”
Nigar, who won Eurovision for Azerbaijan in 2011 alongside Eldar, sets the summer energy high with her latest track. The song blends traditional sounds with modern pop, creating a vibrant and catchy tune. The music video features incredible outfits and radiates a full-on party vibe. The lyrics carry a special request, as Nigar sings about wanting a wedding: “Add the holiday to the wedding, let’s have a wedding/ Let’s share in our new nest/ Let’s have the same last name.”
ALEKSEEV – “Дівчино”
ALEKSEEV, who competed for Belarus in 2018, returns with a new track in Ukrainian titled “Girl”—and his new colour seems to be red. The music video is a joy to watch, filled with iconic elements of Slavic lifestyle and a vibrant representation of Slavic women, blurring the lines between myth and reality. The song blends Ukrainian folklore with a modern sound, adding humorous lyrics here and there to create the perfect catchy summer tune.
The main character of the video is Yulianna Druzhynina, the holder of the title “Mrs. Ukraine World International.” Her portrayal embodies Ukrainian strength, beauty, and deep-rooted traditions. Her story reflects how a modern Ukrainian woman balances career, motherhood, and an active role in society. The video’s locations deserve special attention—one scene was filmed in the same apartment where the British band Coldplay once shot the video for “Trouble in Town.”
About the song, ALEKSEEV said:
“It was important for me to preserve the spirit of a Ukrainian song, but at the same time make it one that sounds in the headphones of a large audience. ‘Girl’ is a dialogue of the past and the present, sincere, with a touch of self-irony.”
Ilinca – “Femme Fatale”
A powerful release comes from Ilinca, Romania’s 2017 representative. Her newest track takes on a deeply serious and urgent topic: the rising number of femicide cases in Romania — already reaching 30 this year alone. The song is more than music; it’s a feminist manifesto, a cry for justice, and a tribute to the voices that have been silenced.
In a reality where institutions and security forces often fail to protect, Ilinca’s lyrics speak the harsh truth: “I did not choose to be born a woman/ I do not want a front seat or priority/ I only want safety/ To be able to walk down my street without holding the key in my hand/ Believing that this will keep me alive.” The chorus adds even more emotional weight: “It was fateful for me to be born a woman/ I lit up in their world like a spark/ They extinguished me/ They are in control, we ask for help/ We give them life, they take ours/ They are the executioner.”
About the song, Ilinca said:
“I wrote ‘Femme Fatale’ the day I found out that the number of femicides in 2025 had reached 29. I locked myself in the studio and wrote a song head to toe, without taking a breath, for the first time in my life. I knew exactly what I wanted to say: ‘It was fatal for me to be born a woman’ is not a metaphor — it is the harsh reality of many of us. Initially, the title of the song was ’29’, a title that I later changed, not for artistic reasons, but because the number had increased to 30. In Romania, women die with restraining orders in their pockets. ‘Femme Fatale’ is my response to the silence that kills them. I chose the title ‘Femme Fatale’ precisely to emphasize the painful contrast between perception and reality. Traditionally, ‘femme fatale’ is an expression that describes a seductive woman, dangerous through her beauty and power — a figure from a movie, a myth, a fantasy. But in real Romania, a woman becomes fatal not because she destroys men, but because her own existence is considered a threat. She is ‘fatal’ by the simple fact that she says no, that she leaves, that she lives freely.”
Justyna Steczkowska & Staszek z Gór – “Pójdę Tam”
Justyna, who represented Poland in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, returns with a collaboration alongside Staszek z Gór. Their new release, titled “I’ll Go There,” is more than just a song—it’s a journey through the stunning landscapes of Poland and a deep dive into its cultural roots. Blending ethno music with modern production, the track feels like a love letter to the Tatra Mountains, which also feature prominently in the music video.
The lyrics express a longing for a place of serenity and belonging, perfectly matched by Justyna’s flawless vocals. As the chorus beautifully puts it: “I’ll go where the mountains touch the sky/ I’ll go where the wind understands me/ I’ll go where my home is, where my peace is.”
Olena Topolia – “Яблучко”
Under her stage name Alyosha, Olena represented Ukraine in Eurovision 2010. She now returns with a powerful new release titled “Apple.” This track is as much a tribute to Ukrainian culture as it is a musical experience. The music video is a striking visual homage, featuring traditional costumes, national symbols, and the faces of Ukrainian heroes—offering a moving and rich aesthetic rooted in heritage. Musically, “Apple” begins as a gentle acoustic ballad before transforming into a fierce rock anthem that leaves a lasting impact. The song is deeply tied to the Ukrainian land, memory, and the enduring strength of women. The poetic lyrics paint vivid imagery: “The new moon of August in the warm sky / Silver fills the stems of fate / And my tears at dawn / From happiness / They formed a lace pattern.”
About the song, Alena said:
“’Apple’ is also a song of unification. It is listened to by those who know what it is like to wait. Those who know how to defend it. People who have suffered losses but have not lost faith. It does not give instructions and does not demand decisions. It simply holds – and opens the ability to see with the heart. To see clearly, without doubt. Like in the palm of your hand.”

Katerine, who made Greece proud back in 2019, is back with a new English release that brings a special kind of “melancholy.” Embracing an inner Lana Del Rey vibe, she delivers a love song tinged with darkness and nostalgia. The lyrics perfectly capture this mood: “Blue skies in your eyes/ As clear as they come/ Hyperhypnotic/ They set on tomorrow/ Not yesterday’s sorrow/ Yet feel so nostalgic.”

Dian discovered Yana performing in a piano bar and was instantly mesmerised by her voice, promising to write a song just for her. Now, that promise has come true, delivering a perfect summer banger.
