Summer is the quiet period for Eurovision fans as we wait for the new season to commence. Thankfully, the music will always continue and a number of Eurovision artists are still producing new songs for us to enjoy.
Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.
Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.
New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 23 part 1
With so many new songs this week, we’ve split the roundup into two smaller articles. You can find part 2 here.
Red Sebastian – “SLAY”
Red Sebastian isn’t letting his non-qualification get him down. Belgium’s Eurovision star is ready to “SLAY” with even more new music — and that includes this latest electro-pop offering.
Through the lyrics, Red Sebastian aims to inspire the listener to walk through life with confidence: “Just gotta slay / Do it all night, all day / Every road’s a runway when you want it to be / Just gotta slay / When you make that entree / Always serve it, werk it, when you’re walking that way.”
Gabry Ponte & Nicky Romero – “Rave Music”
Gabry Ponte is making it very clear what he crafted this new piece for. San Marino’s Eurovision 2025 DJ is providing the musical soundtrack for your next rave alongside Dutch music producer Nicky Romero.
Victoria & Ashnikko – “DADDY”
With the members of Måneskin currently on solo endeavours, Victoria De Angelis is continuing her career as a music producer and DJ. The Eurovision 2021 winner has crafted the song, “DADDY,” which features vocals from American rapper Ashnikko.
The lyrics aren’t for the faint-hearted. Victoria and Ashnikko are ready to take control and dominate the relationship: “Gag him, freak him, f*ck his life up, I′m your daddy now / Peg him, treat him like a puppet, making slapping sounds / Fly him out and f*ck him in London, call that Great British Pound / Give me head like a concussion, this is daddy town.”
Nebulossa – “Ya No Soy La Misma”
Nebulossa continue to inspire and empower women with their music. That includes the new song “Ya No Soy La Misma” (“I’m Not The Same Anymore”). Through the upbeat number, Spain’s Eurovision 2024 act detail the need to keep evolving by moving on from those that have damaged you in the past: “And after so many years, you appear today saying that you’ve changed. […] You can’t hurt me again / I’m not the same person I was, I’m sorry / I’ve protected myself very well inside / I’m not the same person anymore.”
Hatari – “Quantity Control”
This is the second track from Hatari’s updated line-up, with Davíð Katrínarson stepping in for Matthías Haraldsson. “Quantity Control” is fully in English, but it brings back the Eurovision 2019 band’s industrial punk attitude that some fans had felt was lacking in previous song “Breadcrumbs.”
The lyrics go as follows: “We are the poison / There is no antidote / We are the silence / The quantity control […] Waiting for the right moment / Searching for an omen / Lost in her emotions.”
Runa, Donatan & Inee – “Halny Wietrze”
Cleo continues to release music as her alter ego Runa. “Halny Wietrze” (“Mountain Wind”) is produced by the star’s Eurovision 2014 partner in crime, Donatan, and also features additional vocals from Polish singer Inee.
In the folk track, they sing: “Mountain wind take me away / I fell in love but it was a mistake / Mountain wind take me away / Take my heart, I don’t want it, it fell to dust.”
Connect-R, Smiley & Alex Velea – “M-am Trezit Obosit”
Connect-R has a new anthem for the morning after the night before. “M-am Trezit Obosit” (“I Woke Up Tired”) sees the Eurovision 2006 rapper joining forces with Smiley and Alex Velea. The trio deliver a catchy track all about the post-party hangover: “I woke up tired / I feel like I could sleep a little longer / I’m so lazy, so lazy it hit me / I woke up tired / I don’t feel like doing anything today.”
Kejsi Tola – Fryme
Kejsi Tola has dropped a new EP. Titled Fryme (Spirit), Albania’s Eurovision 2009 entrant has recorded five songs for the record. It’s a journey that the singer says embarks on memories, emotions and unconditional love.
The EP comes with an accompanying video for opening song “Ti erdhe.”
Donatas Montvydas – “Laisvės Sparnai”
Two-time Eurovision star, Donatas Montvydas, stepped out of his comfort zone for the music video of his latest single. The Lithuanian singer decided to skydive as a way to visualise the meaning behind “Laisvės Sparnai” (“Wings of Freedom”).
He also used the more traditional method of sharing a press statement about the song:
“I think the latest work best reflects my current state of mind. Listeners can feel how the music becomes more stable and calm, and the emotions – more nostalgic. The lines of the text encode fatigue from the noise of the city, which symbolizes the pressure of everyday life, the traps of routine and the entanglements of the system. In this song, I urge you to free yourself from the feeling of aspiration and listen to your intuition – as if to spread your wings and break away from the ground.”
Svala – “Himinn og jörð”
Svala has a few new songs coming our way — she’s been working on a new EP. The first track to be released from the record is “Himinn og jörð” (“Heaven and Earth”). It’s a cover song, with the original having been recorded in 1981 by Svala’s father, Björgvin Halldórsson.
Now, Iceland’s Eurovision 2017 act is following in her dad’s footsteps by releasing her own version. The production is updated, but it very much keeps the ’80s feel.
Giacomo Lariccia feat. Noa & Mira Awad – “Candela nell’oscurità”
Noa and Mira Awad — Israel’s Eurovision 2009 duo — have long campaigned for peace and stood up against war of all kind. They continue to do this with a new single in collaboration with Italian musician Giacomo Lariccia. “Candela nell’oscurità” (“Candle in the darkness”) is a song based on “Think of others” by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.
Writing on Instagram, Lariccia noted how the song aims to shine a light in the darkness of ongoing ignorance and violence. He hopes for an end to the fighting in Gaza and a new era that unites different nations, ethnicities, languages and hearts:
“Together with Noa and Mira Awad, we have united Italian, Arab and Hebrew to affirm with music and words that the only realistic possibility – between the river and the sea – can only provide coexistence – Arabs and Jews together – safety for all and peace.”
Zlata Ogneivch and more – “АмБасадор Дитинства”
АмБасадор Дитинства — Childhood Ambassador — is a Ukrainian project that aims to uplift the nation’s young people. It acts a call of the heart that unites people in protecting childhood and our dreams.
The organisation has brought together several Ukrainian singers — including Eurovision 2013 star Zlata Ognevich — for a new song that hopes to be a symbol of light, hope and strength: “From child to child / Our truth is simple / Forever / Across the whole country / Kindness will prevail / Don’t be afraid of anything now / Hold your hand tightly / Fight for the good in the world.”
Electro Velvet & Stringfever – “Somebody Like You”
Ten years after they represented the UK at Eurovision, Electro Velvet have reunited. Alex and Bianca have released “Somebody Like You,” a jazz song with string accompaniment courtesy of quartet Stringfever. We even get an updated reprise of an iconic line from Eurovision 2015: “Looking good, sugar.”
Ilinca & Gadjo Dilo – “Tzuki”
Ilinca is back with a fun folk song for us. Romania’s Eurovision 2017 singer has recorded “Tzuki” alongside her band Gdjo Dilo. It will quickly get you up and dancing — and you’ll definitely be singing “yoy tzuki la” on repeat even after it finishes.
Yohanna, DJ Muscleboy & Manswess – “Unstoppable”
Icelandic music producer DJ Muscleboy has decided to remix Sia’s 2016 hit “Unstoppable.” For this new version, the DJ has brought on board Eurovision 2009 silver medallist Yohanna to provide vocals.
Shkodra Elektronike feat. Roy Paci – “Askund”
Two weeks ago, Shkodra Elektronike presented their new EP, schndrit! Albania’s Eurovision 2024 representatives have now shared an accompanying music video for one of the record’s tracks. “Askund” features contributions from Italian music producer Roy Paci.
Commenting under the video, the duo note: “Askund means Nowhere. But somehow, it feels familiar. A space between heritage and rupture, motion and memory.”
