Tiffany Haddish Recalls Feeling Beautiful at High School Prom and Shares How She’s Recreating the Night Now

Beautiful from the inside out! Tiffany Haddish is set to host the 3rd Annual She Ready Foundation Adult Prom on Saturday, May 17, at The Beehive by Sola Impact in Los Angeles, California, and revealed her present-day prom essentials with ET ahead of the special evening.

Event attendees can expect a night of glamor and giving back as they honor those who have been in the foster care system, kinship care, or supported foster youth.

“It’s prom with a purpose and everybody will leave with more than just memories. … We’ve got live entertainment, delicious food, surprise performances, and of course, dancing all night long,” Haddish, 45, says.

“Beyond the fun, it’s about supporting foster youth and creating opportunities for the next generation,” she continues.

The philanthropist also hopes the star-studded fête will have guests feeling like their absolute best selves.

“I chose a prom theme because I’ve met so many adults who never got the chance to go. …  I went to three proms, and I loved it. It was my first time feeling beautiful and elegant,” she explains.

To recreate that sentiment, the Girls Trip actress will lean into this year’s groovy theme with her look — and make sure that it’s picked out ahead of time.

“I wouldn’t change anything about my experience, except for making sure my dress was done at least a week before my prom instead of the day of. … I’ll be bringing all the Soul Train flavor, and I am excited for everyone to see all my prom pictures and videos,” she spills.

As for who she’ll be doing prom poses with? The verdict is still out!

“I think I have a few options for dates. We’ll see who is ready to be my date on the day.”

Regardless of what the stand-up comic wears, or who she chooses to bring as her plus one, the Los Angeles, California native is sure to make a difference.

She Ready Foundation

“I’m a firm believer in making the place you come from better. You saw what was wrong growing up, so you know what needs to be fixed. If you have the ability to help or improve something, even just a little, why not do it?”

“My grandma used to say, ‘If you walk into a bathroom, leave it better than you found it,’ so in my mind, this is my version of wiping down the sink,” she notes.

“People coming together to uplift and elevate foster youth makes my heart sing because this population is often ignored. … We want attendees to feel like they’ve had an immersive experience that included good food, great fun and gargantuan impact towards transitioning foster youth,” Thyonne Gordon, Ph.D, and Executive Director of She Ready Foundation adds.

The 2025 Adult Prom – A Night Under the Stars – Get on the Soul Train will be co-hosted by Jo Koy and will feature performances by Tanya Nolan and the Original Soul Train Dancers, testimonials by She Ready Foundation alumni, a silent and live auction by Kara Saun with the Miss USA Pageant, and awards to recognize Eden Alpert, Francois Reihani, and Lynnwood Bibbens.
