Wiwi Jury: Australia’s Go-Jo with “Milkshake Man”

Posted on 20 April 2025 By Admin No Comments on Wiwi Jury: Australia’s Go-Jo with “Milkshake Man”

The Wiwi Jury — our in-house team of music unprofessionals — is reviewing and rating the 37 competing songs in Eurovision 2025. Next we review Australia, who have chosen Go-Jo with “Milkshake Man”.

Are we lapping up every last drop? Read on to find out!

Go-Jo – “Milkshake Man” (Australia Eurovision 2025)

Review: Go-Jo – “Milkshake Man”

Jonathan: Milkshakes have long been my favourite beverage. And once again this creamy concoction rises to the top of my ranking. Go-Jo brings a flavoursome abundance of joyous energy that is hard not to gobble up. The synth pop melodies are infectious, providing the listener with a sugar rush to boost their confidence and bring out their most vibrant self. Mix in a sprinkling of (not so) subtle double entendres for a serving of light-hearted fun, and the result is a delicious product you absolutely want a second helping of (and third, fourth…). Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to order the crême brûlée special.

     Score: 9.5

Tom: This is a song that haunts my dreams. I wake up and this song is in my head every other day. In another year without so many crazy songs, this would do really, really well. I am just curious to see what could out crazy the Milkshake Man? However, the track is catchy, it is undeniably different, it is unapologetically wild — and I love that. The unhinged lyrics combined with the ear-worm chorus gives us so much to root for and sing along to. Welcome back to the final Australia but please, I need another song in my head when I wake up!

     Score: 7.5

Deban: Serving sizzling sex appeal and frothy milk, Australia’s 2025 entry straddles all possibilities. On one ear, it sounds like a cradle song, and on the other, it sounds like a parental advisory late-night jingle. In a nutshell, this is music that I’m unlikely to ever reach for. However, it isn’t without merit. The visuals here are compelling. Marty Zambotto is a seasoned performer that isn’t afraid to take risks, and he has a knack for elevating distinctly-average pop songs through his live performances.

     Score: 5.5

Lucy: Sometimes ‘zany’ at Eurovision can induce eye rolls and annoyed Tweets, but when done well, they can make me whack them straight to the top of my list. Go-Jo has done something remarkable with a sexy, fun song. He’s made it extremely high-quality and simply unforgettable. Games of Marco Polo have borderline begun in my house, but instead it’s “Sweet Sweet” and “Yum Yum”. I actually started using my blender to make a spearmint milkshake (Go-Jo’s fave, btw). I have “Milkshake Man” fever, and I’m not letting go until the grand final (fingers crossed).
