“I am black and blue, when i am with you”.

lilqueen Unveils New Track “RED TO BLACK AND BLUE”. An uncomfortable truth about an abusive relationship from rapper brings up an important topic for society.

Queer rapper lilqueen has released a new track, “RED TO BLACK AND BLUE”, offering an intimate exploration of toxic and abusive relationships. The song’s title reflects the contrast between the warmth of healthy love, symbolized by the color red, and the coldness of harmful love, represented by black and blue bruises, which are not only a beautiful allegory for the song, but also the author’s personal lived experience.

This release marks a continuation of lilqueen’s journey into authentic self-expression, delving into genuine emotions and personal experiences that he has begun to share in his recent works. The lyrics depict the blindness that comes with intense affection, highlighting the pain endured in the name of love. Phrases like “oh how I bleed for you” poignantly convey the anguish of remaining in a relationship that causes harm.

“When I wrote this song, I wanted to convey the feeling of being so in love that you’re blinded and can’t see that you’re hurting and that it’s bad for you. As I started to sublimate my feelings into music, I realized that this theme is much deeper than I thought and its origins go back to my childhood and my personal formation. This musical expression of pain has proven to be liberating and healing for me” says the artist.

Musically, the track blends elements of alternative pop, pop-rock, and hip-hop, creating a distinctive sound that complements the song’s emotional depth.

Drawing from personal history, “RED TO BLACK AND BLUE” reflects lil queen’s past experiences of enduring pain and suffering to maintain relationships, often overlooking his own well-being for the sake of others’ happiness. The recurring imagery of “red to black & blue” serves as a metaphor for the bruises—both emotional and physical—that were once ignored, highlighting the realization that such treatment is unacceptable.

“RED TO BLACK AND BLUE” stands as a raw and heartfelt piece, inviting listeners to reflect on the complexities of love and the importance of self-respect. The single is available to listen to on all digital platforms.”
