Ukraine: FIÏNKA wins Diia app voting and becomes the final artist in Vidbir 2025 line-up

Posted on 17 January 2025 By Admin No Comments on Ukraine: FIÏNKA wins Diia app voting and becomes the final artist in Vidbir 2025 line-up

The Ukrainian public had five days to choose their favourite among the ten eliminated songs from the longlist of Vidbir 2025, with one last wildcard spot in the final up for grabs. On Friday evening, Hutsul singer FIÏNKA emerged on top of the voting.

For the second year in a row, Ukrainians were given the chance to select an additional finalist from the longlisted acts that didn’t make the final nine. All votes were cast through the Diia app — a form of e-governance in Ukraine.

Fans expected bigger names such as ENLEO and FIÏNKA, who both missed the cut earlier, to do well in the voting. Among Ukrainian Eurovision fans, GRISANA topped all the Telegram polls after the snippets were released prior to the voting starting.

However, on Monday, it emerged quickly that FIÏNKA would be bringing victory to her hometown Ivano-Frankivsk. The singer, who will perform her song “Культура” (Culture) in the final, stormed the voting after her fan base came to power and after numerous celeb endorsements. Former Vidbir stars alyona alyona and Tayanna both revealed that their vote went to FIÏNKA.

FIÏNKA will sing “Культура” at Vidbir 2025

FIÏNKA won the last ticket to the Vidbir 2025 final. There, she will be joined by the nine shortlisted acts whose songs still remain to be released in the upcoming few weeks.

“Культура” will remind Eurovision fans of FIÏNKA’s previous Vidbir attempt “Dovbush”. Again, the songstress raps in Ukrainian, to be precise in the Hutsul dialect. Her song is an ode to her regional culture and includes the tsymbaly, a traditional instrument.

Vidbir 2025 will be held on 8 February. It’s currently unknown if a live broadcast will happen on the day or whether the broadcast will only contain a pre-recorded show filmed earlier. Due to the war in Ukraine, Vidbir 2025 will definitely be pre-recorded on 7 February, but a live show could be held if the situation allows. The location remains in secrecy too.

Kateryna Pavlenko, Serhiy Tanchynets and Jamala will form the jury panel that will decide 50% of the votes.

What do you think about FIÏNKA’s song? Do you think she might do well in the Vidbir 2025 final? Let us know in the comments down below!
