The Eurovision 2025 season is beginning to heat up. Over the course of the next few months, we will all fall in and out of love with scores of new national final and Eurovision entries. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests.
Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.
Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.
New music from Eurovision artists: 2024 | Week 50
Srbuk – “Fenomenal”
Srbuk, who represented Armenia in 2019, is back with her newest disco-infused dance song, ready to ignite the party. The track is irresistibly addictive, seamlessly blending retro and Armenian influences. The colourful, energetic music video perfectly complements the party vibe, drawing you in. Srbuk shines with her impressive vocals and dynamic dance moves, radiating confidence as she truly seems to feel phenomenal. The lyrics tell the story of a lover who has let her down, and her decision to break free from a toxic relationship: “Your love was a phenomenal game/ But I don’t want to stay with you anymore/ I’m tired, I’m tired of you.” Instead of dwelling on heartbreak, Srbuk turns the page and celebrates her newfound freedom.
Charlotte Perrelli – “Home”
Charlotte, who won Eurovision for Sweden in 1999 and returned to represent her country in 2008, is now preparing us for Christmas with a beautiful ballad. The song is a heartfelt cover of Michael Bublé’s 2005 classic, capturing the longing to be back home with loved ones: “Let me go home/ I’m just too far from where you are/ I wanna come home.” Charlotte released the song in celebration of Saint Lucia’s Day, a cherished tradition in Sweden observed on 13 December.
Kalush Orchestra feat. Харфанг – “Дівчата”
Kalush Orchestra, the 2022 Eurovision winners for Ukraine, are back with their latest release, “Girls” — a heartfelt manifesto celebrating women and their strength. The track is a collaboration with Harfang. Staying true to their signature style, the song masterfully blends ethnic and traditional influences with powerful rap segments. The rich instrumental arrangement prominently features traditional Ukrainian instruments, adding depth and authenticity.
The accompanying music video offers a metaphorical depiction of life as a maze, filled with countless paths. It conveys the idea that only one path leads to where your heart is truly happy. About the message of the song, the band stated:
“This song is a musical manifesto celebrating the uniqueness of every girl and the search for the one who can set the heart ablaze. ‘Divchata’ tells a story of diverse feminine beauty, character, and soul, capturing the bittersweet journey of love and the challenges of finding a true connection.”
Olly Alexander – “Archangel”
Olly, the British superstar from Years & Years, represented his homeland in this year’s Eurovision edition. His latest track is a perfect pop anthem, destined to become your next obsession. The song is accompanied by a lyric video, emphasising its powerful message. The lyrics speak about those extraordinary people who enter your life and feel like angels, sent to guide you out of the darkness. With its catchy melody and heartfelt meaning, this track is sure to resonate with listeners everywhere. About his newest song, Olly said:
“This song is about an angel who saved me at my darkest moment, I’m so grateful for him and all the other angels I’ve encountered along the way! This is such a special song to me , I hope you love it as much as I do.”
KEiiNO – “Northern Boy”
KEiiNO captured our hearts in 2019 when they represented Norway. Their new song embodies the signature KEiiNO sound, highlighted by Alexandra’s flawless vocals. The lyrics tell the story of a boy who’s just like the Northern Star, guiding the way through the darkness. About the story behind the song, KEiiNO explained:
“Our new single, Northern Boy, continues the story of one of your favorites – Unbreakable. Inspired by the fairytale The Snow Maiden, it tells the tale of winter’s daughter longing for her lover, who left for the summer’s warmth, hoping he’ll return. Beneath the story lies a theme we all know: the need for connection and warmth, a contrast to strength and independence. It’s a reminder to seek closeness, embrace softness, and hold on until spring.”
Nebulossa – “Bailar Hasta Morir”
Get ready for some retro disco vibes with Nebulossa, who represented Spain this year. Their latest song is a cover of Tino Casal’s 1984 hit, “Dance till I Die,” a powerful anthem about celebrating and living life to the fullest. The song was created for a documentary produced by RTVE, Spain’s national broadcaster, titled The Last Night of Sonia Martínez. Commenting about who Sonia was, the duo explains:
“This documentary film immersed us in the life of Sonia Martínez, the unforgettable presenter who marked an era, from her incredible success on television to the darkest moments of her fight against her, premiered (at 22:00 on La 2). addiction and AIDS. A story told through unique and moving testimonies from his closest circle.”
Donatas Montvydas – “Sudužusi Širdis”
Donatas, who competed twice for Lithuania — first in 2012 and again in 2016 under the stage name Donny Montell — returns with a heartfelt new track. If you’re feeling the blues and in need of a pop ballad to mend your broken heart, this is the song for you. Titled “Broken Heart,” the song delves into the sadness that accumulates in one’s heart. It is accompanied by a creative music video that symbolically portrays the struggle to withstand time’s challenges and the effort to save oneself from the pouring rain.
Andrei Ursu & Eva TImush – “Sa ma iubesti”
Andrei, who represented Romania in Eurovision 2022 under his stage name wrs, has released a beautiful duet this week, titled “To Love Me,” with Eva Timush. The track transports you back in time with its retro style, perfectly capturing the essence of Romanian music from the early 60s to the early 80s. Get ready for a nostalgic journey through the past.
The lyrics are warm and heartfelt, much like the harmony between their voices. They speak about the choice to stay and work through challenges instead of walking away, expressing the gratitude that comes with finding someone who accepts you through both the good and the bad. The chorus adds: “I hope you would want to / Love me like in the beginning / To speak to me / Because I will listen / To understand me / When I’ll cry / To stay forever / The way we are now.”
Ornella Vanoni feat. Mahmood – “Sant’Allegria”
Mahmood, who represented Italy in Eurovision twice — first as a solo artist in 2019 and then alongside Blanco in 2022 — returns with a stunning duet. This time, he joins forces with the legendary Italian music icon Ornella Vanoni to reinterpret one of her iconic songs. Their voices blend seamlessly, creating a heartfelt performance that immerses listeners in deep nostalgia, evoking the ambiance of an Italian café. The song explores the sorrow of lovers separated, with one longing for the other’s return:
“This is what happens to those who come and those who go/ Sant’allegria, holy love that goes away, listen to me tonight/ Another sentence, half a sentence I will wait, hoping that it is true.”
Uzi Lvke feat. Achille Lauro – “Non frenare”
Achille Lauro, the Italian superstar who represented San Marino at Eurovision in 2022, is back to the delight of Eurovision fans. He is set to participate once again in Sanremo 2025, which will take place in February next year, and fans are eagerly anticipating more extravagant performances. Meanwhile, his latest track, “Don’t Slow Down,” is a collaboration with Uzi Lvke. This rap song encourages living life at full speed, without fear, and doing everything that makes you feel truly alive.
Marisa Liz feat. Cláudia Pascoal, iolanda and more – “Mudar A Canção”
The Portuguese artist Marisa Liz has gathered numerous Portuguese musicians for a powerful anthem titled “Changing the Song.” Among them are iolanda, who competed this year, and Cláudia, who represented Portugal in 2018. The song serves as a manifesto against racism, aggression, homophobia, sexism, and genocide. The lyrics convey a hopeful message: “I like to believe / That it’s possible to change / And see love win,” a vital and timely message, especially in the tense times we are living through.
About the song, iolanda stated:
“The message is of love, peace and freedom. It is for change and so that TOGETHER we can fight so that the hope of living in a better and more just world does not fade away.”
Estremo feat. Francesca Michielin – “RED FLAG”
Francesca, who represented Italy in Eurovision 2016, has teamed up with Estremo, a fellow Italian artist and producer, for a captivating collaboration. Their new song explores the challenges of love. In this partnership, Estremo took charge of the production, while Francesca contributed the powerful lyrics.
Savage Lands feat. Lord of the Lost – “Out of Breath”
Lord of the Lost, who represented Germany last year, has teamed up with the metal band Savage Lands for a breath-taking track. The powerful and impactful music video addresses the dystopian reality of the world we live in, with lyrics like: “We’re out of breath / We choke before our eyes / Cannot deny we see the effects / We’re left for dead.” All proceeds from the song will be donated to non-profit organisations focused on preservation, reforestation, and educational programs.
Diamond Black feat. Chris Harms – “In Venom”
In addition to his collaboration with Lord of the Lost, Chris Harms is also releasing a solo project this week alongside the band Diamond Black. This track is more rock compared to the previous metal song. With lyrics like “Fears drag you down / To where you’ve never been so lost,” the track delves into the destructive cycle many of us find ourselves trapped in, specifically addressing anxiety, addiction, self-sabotage, and trauma.
Gianni Morandi – L’Attrazione
In 1970, Gianni Morandi made Italy proud with his Eurovision participation, and he continues to shine as a true legend of Italian music. His newest album, The Attraction, features 17 tracks — a mix of famous songs, re-recorded classics, and brand-new material. The album offers a captivating journey through time and space in music.
The catchy title track, “L’attrazione” (The Attraction), was released earlier as a teaser, setting the tone for the album. It also includes his iconic 2022 Sanremo hit, “Apri tutte le porte” (Open All the Doors), and a special recording of his Eurovision classic, “Occhi di ragazza” (The Girl’s Eyes), featuring Ron.
The album boasts an impressive line-up of collaborations, including sangiovanni, Amii Stewart, Annalisa, Claudio Baglioni, Jovanotti, Lucio Dalla, Alessandra Amoroso, ARIETE, Bresh, Gaia, Gigi D’Alessio, J-AX, Marco Morandi, and NASKA.
Safura – “Yalanlar”
Safura, who represented Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2010, has released her newest song, “Lies.” This track is a unique blend of genres, combining elements of traditional Azerbaijani music with retro dance influences. The result is an original and authentic tune that is not only catchy but also perfect for dancing.
Magdolna Rúzsa & ZVG – “MajdNem!”
Magdolna, who made Hungary proud in 2007, is back with a new track titled “Almost,” a collaboration with ZVG. The song builds in intensity as it progresses, showcasing flawless vocals and a powerful duet. This ballad is sure to stand out and will be impossible to ignore in your playlist.
Lordi – Syntax Terror
Lordi, the Finnish winners of Eurovision 2006, are back with a new track that brings an eighties heavy metal vibe. The song features abstract lyrics and was born from a simple keyboard riff, originally intended to mimic the opening of an eighties action movie. This track will serve as the title song for their upcoming album. The style of the song evokes influences from Judas Priest in the verses, Manowar in the chorus, and is topped off with powerful metal screams reminiscent of Udo Dirkschneider.
Deep Zone Project x Bisera & Lidia – “Hubava Bilyana”
Deep Zone Project, who represented Bulgaria in Eurovision 2008, have released a new track that makes us even more disappointed that Bulgaria isn’t competing next year, as this would have been a strong entry. The song, “The Nice Bilyana,” is a collaboration with Bisera and Lidia, blending electronic dance music with traditional Bulgarian sounds.
The lyrics tell a folk story about a sweet and innocent girl named Bilyana, who spends her days tending to her garden, and a young bachelor, Stoyan, who wants to invite her to the village dance — a ceremony where couples meet.
Henri Piispanen and more – “Yhtä matkaa”
Henri represented Finland this year alongside Windows95Man. But the star is also know for his voice acting career, and he appears on the Finnish dub of new Disney movie Mufasa: The Lion King, playing the role of Zazu. Henri features in the soundtrack on “Yhtä matkaa” (“One way”). Get ready for a safari because it brings the vibrant sounds of Africa to life.
Sofi Marinova – “Целуни ме”
From Bulgaria, we also have Sofi Marinova, who represented the country in 2012. Her newest turbo-folk track, “Kiss Me,“ is a banger that will have you moving and vibing. The lyrics speak about finding the love of your life and longing for constant affection, expressing a desire to be hugged and kissed continually: “I don’t want anyone else/ Love me, love!”
Carola & Kleerup – “Sign”
Carola has a long history with Eurovision, having won for Sweden in 1991, and also competing in 1983 and 2006. This week, she releases a sweet acoustic ballad with Kleerup, a song that explores the ups and downs of life and love. The song expresses gratitude to the Lord for offering a sign that everything will be alright. It will be a delicate addition to your playlist.
Gaitana – “Don’t Stop The Music”
Gaitana, who represented Ukraine in Eurovision 2012, is back with a new track that’s a complete vibe. The song features outstanding vocals, captivating beats, and metaphorical lyrics about not stopping the music. It speaks to the idea that in music, you can hide your true feelings when you don’t want others to see your sorrow and pain.
Jessika – “Aħna t-tnejn”
Jessika, the Maltese singer who represented San Marino alongside Jenifer in 2018, has released a special track titled “We Both.” It’s a love song accompanied by a video from Jessika’s wedding, and the entire track feels like a heartfelt vow. As you can imagine, this song holds a deep personal significance for her.
Stereo Mike & Evnus – “Δροσοπεζούλα”
We end this week’s round-up with a powerful tune from Greece. Stereo Mike, who competed in 2011, brings some cool electronic retro vibes to this track, a collaboration with Evnus. If you’re a fan of rap music, this one is for you, offering a fresh and exciting sound.
