Slovenia: July Jones and Klemen Slakonja amongst the 12 competing acts of EMA 2025

Posted on 13 December 2024 By Admin No Comments on Slovenia: July Jones and Klemen Slakonja amongst the 12 competing acts of EMA 2025

Following two years of internal selection, Slovenia is bringing back TV show EMA as their national selection for Eurovision 2025. Broadcaster RTVLSO has now unveiled the 12 acts who will be competing for the ticket to Basel.

There are a few names that Eurovision fans may recognise.

July Jones previously competed at EMA in 2022. A fan favourite with her entry “Girls Can Do Anything,” she ultimately finished in fifth place.

Klemen Slakonja has also graced the EMA stage before — as host of the 2020 edition. Even though he wasn’t competing, Klemen still showcased his singing abilities during the iconic interval performance where he recreated Slovenia’s 25 Eurovision entries up until that point.

EMA 2025: Competing acts

  • Eva Pavli – “Niti”
  • KiKi – “O-ou!”
  • Jon Vitezič – “Vse ti dam”
  • Trine – “Grace”
  • Klemen – “How much time do we have left?”
  • Žan Videc – “Pusti da gori”
  • ANNA – “Čau”
  • July Jones – “New Religion”
  • ZveN – “Divja”
  • PolarAce – “Kind”
  • Astrid & The Scandals – “Touché”
  • RAI – “Frederick’s Dead”

EMA 2025 is scheduled for Saturday 1 February. The show will take place over two rounds.

The first round will see five jury groups voting between the 12 acts. The five juries are:

  • Music jury (singers, musicians, producers, songwriters creators etc.)
  • Television jury (editors, presenters, directors, choreographers etc.)
  • Radio jury (radio editors, journalists, presenters, etc.)
  • OGAE Slovenia jury
  • International Eurovision influencer jury (bloggers, vloggers, online journalists etc.)

The top two from this jury vote will move on to the superfinal, at which point the power transfers solely to the Slovenian public to decide on who will head to Eurovision 2025.

Are you excited by the EMA 2025 competing acts? Whose song are you already hyped to hear? Let us know in the comments below.
