Spain: RTVE postpones Benidorm Fest 2025 artists reveal

Posted on 4 November 2024 By Admin No Comments on Spain: RTVE postpones Benidorm Fest 2025 artists reveal

Spain’s beloved music showdown, Benidorm Fest 2025, is just three months away. At the event, the country will be crowning the next star to follow in Nebulossa’s dazzling footsteps to Eurovision.

As we count down to January and February, the wait to meet Spain’s new Eurovision hopefuls gets shorter. Journalist Juanma Fernández, along with several media outlets, confirmed earlier on X that the big reveal was set for Thursday, 7 November. However, this has been postponed by RTVE and no date has been confirmed yet – as ESC Plus reports.

1000 entries received for Benidorm Fest 2025

In a whirlwind 143 days, from 20 May to 10 October, RTVE saw an influx of nearly 1,000 song entries — a new high for Benidorm Fest. The selection team have been diving into each track, narrowing it down this Thursday to the 16 standout entries who will hit the stage from 28 January to 1 February. Around 300 of those entries poured in during the last 24 hours of the submission window.

With a whopping 175 more entries than last year’s 825, this year’s submissions have set a new record and flipped the recent downward trend. Back in 2022, RTVE received 886 entries, but that number dipped to 876 in 2023 and 825 in 2024. Now, Benidorm Fest is officially back on the rise!

A press conference featuring the chosen Benidorm Fest 2025 artists was initially set for Thursday morning at the usual Prado del Rey studios in Madrid. As for the big reveal, RTVE has not confirmed a new date – yet – after postponing the press conference.

Are you excited about next year’s Benidorm Fest 2025? And who are you looking forward to seeing hitt the stage for Spain? Let us know in the comment section below!
