Although we’re officially into the Eurovision 2025 season, it will still be some time before we hear any national final and Eurovision songs. Thankfully, the music will always continue and a number of Eurovision artists are still producing new songs for us to enjoy.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2024 | Week 40

Nemo – “Eurostar”

The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Nemo, this year’s Eurovision winner for Switzerland, has released new music. The wait was long, but as Nemo put it, “good music takes time.” The song is the perfect pop track, with Nemo leaving us all speechless thanks to their powerful vocals in the chorus and the intensity of the song as a whole.

In the music video, Nemo’s outfits make us feel like we’re watching a high-fashion runway show. And there’s a huge bonus because some of this year’s Eurovision participants make appearances: Luna (Poland), Windows95Man (Finland), Bambie Thug (Ireland), Silvester Belt (Lithuania), and Jerry Heil (Ukraine). Marina Satti (Greece) was also set to appear but missed the chance due to a flight delay.

The music video was filmed in London, where Nemo currently resides. The song itself is about their journey, taking the Eurostar from Paris to London, which marked the start of a brand-new chapter in their life: “I took the Eurostar from Paris/ And you know what for/ I wanna dance, I wanna party/ Do it like no one before.” Nemo moved to London in July and has since focused even more on self-discovery and music composition.

Reflecting on the song, Nemo says that “a new era begins” with it, and that “Eurostar” is more than just a song — it’s a feeling and a reflection of their life over the past five months.

Noa & Yael Deckelbaum – “The Answer”

Noa, who competed in Eurovision for Israel in 2009 alongside Mira Awad, has released a new song — also a duet, this time with Israeli artist and activist Yael Deckelbaum. The track, titled “The Answer,” is an acoustic piece that beautifully blends the voices of both singers, allowing their harmonies to shine throughout. Deckelbaum first released the song in Hebrew last year. Noa has translated the lyrics into English for this new version.

As a passionate advocate for peace, Noa consistently uses her platform to promote non-violent solutions to conflict, and she takes every opportunity to voice her opposition to war. The lyrics of “The Answer” amplify her message: Generations ask the questions/ For our children, what remains?/ Will their rivers too be poisoned by greed and pain?/ The earth has offered blessings, sun will rise and rain will fall/ But we still don’t have an answer to it all.”

To further emphasise the theme of unity, the song concludes with the hopeful lines: “For we can only find the answer/ When we meet,” encouraging peaceful coexistence and dialogue.

Joost – “Filthy Dog”

After the police case against him was dropped, Joost Klein, this year’s representative for the Netherlands, has made a comeback with a new track in both English and German. Musically, it features Joost’s signature gabber style, which has become a hallmark of his discography. The lyrics are laced with sarcasm, telling the story of a Dutch man who travels to Berlin and tries to avoid trouble: “Hey, man, sorry, I don’t want to fight/ I just wanna have a real good night tonight/ I am from the Netherlands where the party never ends/ Man, so sick and tired because drugs are required/ Man, I’d rather sit at home, spending hours on my phone/ Just leave me alone, please, just leave me alone.”

Amaia – “Tocotó”

Amaia, who represented Spain in 2018 alongside Alfred, has returned with a new song accompanied by a captivating vertical music video that will leave you mesmerised. Her sweet voice is simply addictive. The song uses the metaphor of a horse ride to describe life, with Amaia expressing moments of feeling left behind but ultimately knowing that as long as she keeps moving — even if it’s against the wind — she can still take the lead: “Run, run, little horse/ Keep the race going/ Because if we don’t lose track/ We can take the lead.” The song is charming and optimistic, serving as a confidence booster.

Lara Fabian – “Je t’ai cherché”

Lara Fabian is back to enchant us once again with her incredible voice. She represented Luxembourg in 1988, and now her newest song has a connection to Slimane, who represented France this year. Slimane contributed as both a composer and lyricist for the track. The song delves into the pain of a breakup, with poignant lyrics: “Where were you? Where were you?/ All those years spent without you/ I looked for you/ You were no longer there/ Where were you? Where were you?/ I needed you so much/ I looked for you.” The song takes an even more bitter turn with the lines: “I want you to tell me if it’s that child/ That I couldn’t offer you/ What was really missing.”

ALEKSEEV – “Наодинці танці”

ALEKSEEV, who competed in Eurovision 2018, is back and isn’t afraid to “Dance Alone.” His new dance track is infectious and sure to get you moving. The song’s lyrics convey a message of resilience: “Dances alone in the evening and in the morning/ You see exactly that in the mirror/ Although the flowers have faded/ The sun is still shining/ Keep kindness in your heart.”

Filled with positivity, the song encourages listeners to focus on the brighter side of life. Now an independent artist, ALEKSEEV embraces the freedom to experiment with different genres while still holding on to signature elements that define his music — lyrics about love, intense emotions, and sensuality. Reflecting on the song, he shared:

“In this song, I address women with words of support, motivate them to be strong and, despite possible hopelessness and difficult circumstances, not to become callous, to keep kindness, humanity and sensitivity in their hearts.”

EMMA – SOUVENIR (Extended Edition)

Italian star Emma, who competed in Eurovision 2014, is back with the extended edition of her album SOUVENIR, originally released earlier this year. The new version includes six additional tracks, one of which is a collaboration with Baby Gang titled “Hangover,” which was released a few weeks ago.

We highly recommend “Vita Lenta” (Slow Life), a perfect Latin-inspired track to add to your playlist right now. However, we encourage you to explore all of Emma’s new songs. While not new, her Sanremo entry from this year, “APNEA,” opens the album.

Mikolas Josef – “Diamonds”

Mikolas wowed us all when he represented Czechia in Eurovision 2018. His newest song embraces a hip-hop vibe, showcasing Mikolas’s versatility as an artist. The track features a nostalgic nod to ATC’s classic hit “Around The World (La La La La La),” but Mikolas infuses it with a fresh, modern sound that makes it uniquely his own.

Diodato – “Un Atto Di Rivoluzione”

Diodato won Sanremo in 2020 and was set to represent Italy at Eurovision that same year, but the event was cancelled due to the pandemic. His newest song, a ballad titled “An Act of Revolution,” showcases Diodato’s incredible vocals. The track conveys a beautiful message about the power of words and how, in today’s world, expressing an emotion can feel as impactful as an act of revolution.

TVORCHI represented Ukraine in 2023, and their newest song features a duet with Pozdniakov that has a fascinating backstory. They first met during the show Incredible Duets, where TVORCHI served as mentors. Following the show, they collaborated on this track titled “Kalanchoe,” named after the pot flower that appears in the music video.

The lyrics convey deep emotion: “You don’t have to wait for me anymore, I’ll be alone/ But tomorrow I will leave forever and will not write/ White noise around, there are two of us in the room/ It will remind me of a sad kalanchoe.” The song challenges the stereotype that only women break up with men, illustrating that men can also leave women heartbroken. It tells the story of a heartbroken woman who is left despite her feelings of love, as both characters know that he will leave the next day and never return. The band commented on the song:

“Although we gathered as a group of men to perform the track ‘Kalanhoe’, it is actually about the broken heart of a woman. Our society has a rather stereotypical idea that only girls can dump guys and break up relationships. But girls’ hearts are also broken. The heroine of the song ‘Kalanhoe’ really wants to be with the boy, he stays, but both understand that tomorrow he will leave forever.”

Lozano – “Zolto Crveno”

In 2013, Lozano represented North Macedonia alongside Esma at Eurovision. Now, Lozano has released a powerful ballad with ethno influences that not only highlight his incredible voice but also showcase the beauty of his culture. Titled “Golden-Red,” the song’s colours are reflected throughout the cinematic music video, evoking an autumnal atmosphere. However, the lyrics convey a message of renewal and hope, symbolised by blooming hyacinths: “Ray, golden sun to wake us up/ Again, you and I in our place/ And again, hyacinths will bloom/ Again, as new hopes.”

ELDAR & Emy Lia – “Əlvida”

ELDAR, who won Eurovision 2011 for Azerbaijan under the stage name “Ell” alongside Nikki, is back with a new song this week titled “Goodbye.” The track blends traditional Azerbaijani sounds with a retro dance vibe, creating a unique and original mix. The song is a duet with Emy Lia, and with lyrics like: “It’s time to say goodbye, wipe your tears/ My decision is difficult, my word is final, this is the end of our love/ Memories are dear to me, life is hard and painful,” it serves as a heartfelt break-up anthem.

Nadir Rustamli – “Duman”

For more Azerbaijani vibes, Nadir, who represented his country in Eurovision 2022, has also released a new song. Titled “Fog,” this modern pop track carries subtle, authentic Azerbaijani influences in the instrumental, making it perfect for these autumn days. The song captures the feeling of confusion — being lost in a fog where the image of a beloved one starts to appear. It explores the pain of longing for something that isn’t real, yet still craving it: “It’s getting dark again, the fog is taking over my head/ Take my word for it, all that happened/ Green eyes and so on, it’s all a lie.”

Malik Harris – “Heavy Rain”

In 2022, Malik represented Germany at Eurovision, and his newest song carries an uplifting message about overcoming challenges and always chasing better days. The metaphor of “defeating the heavy rain” and “following the sun” reflects a sense of hope and resilience, with the confident line “You see, I’ll always chase the sun” opening the chorus. Fans of Imagine Dragons will find a similar vibe in this track, blending powerful lyrics with an anthemic sound. A music video is also on the way, so be sure to keep an eye on Malik’s YouTube channel.

Gustaph – “Calls Your Name”

Gustaph, who represented Belgium in Eurovision 2023, has been working on his upcoming album in London, set for release next year. His latest single, “Calls Your Name,” serves as both a standalone track and a teaser for the album, as it will be featured on the final project. Gustaph began working on this song three years ago while DJing at various queer venues. He recently returned to it, giving it its final form. The song aims to capture the unique vibe of queer clubs, offering a sense of safety and a space for self-expression, a voice advocating for these values.

Justs feat. TIKASHA SAKAMA – “Atslēdziņas”

Justs, who represented Latvia in Eurovision 2016, is back with a catchy pop-dance track titled “Keys,” featuring TIKASHA SAKAMA. The song is accompanied by an impressive music video that explores the journey between darkness and light, childhood and adulthood, and the process of discovering one’s inner self while healing the inner child.

ZOË – “Carrousel”

Zoë, who represented Austria in Eurovision 2016, continues to captivate with her sweet, calming voice. True to her style, her latest release leans into the French chanson genre, creating a vibe reminiscent of a cozy French café. This lullaby-like song carries a personal touch, as it was inspired by her baby, adding to its gentle and soothing feel.

Connect-R – “Sokeres”

Connect-R, the Romanian singer who competed for Moldova in Eurovision 2006 alongside Natalia and Arsenium, proudly embraces his Romani (gypsy) heritage and frequently incorporates it into his music. His new song features numerous Romani expressions, with the title translating to “What are you doing?” The lyrics take a sarcastic tone, addressing a woman who constantly demands money to spend on expensive clothes and cosmetics: I have a gypsy girl, a bit loco/ She always wants money/ But from where do you want me to give it to you?/ What are you doing?”

Nina Badrić – “Moji ljudi”

Nina, who represented Croatia in Eurovision 2012, has released a deeply personal and emotional new song titled “My People.” The track reflects on the enduring significance of family, even as time passes. Accompanied by a black-and-white music video that enhances its sentimental tone, this powerful ballad serves as a poignant reminder of what truly matters in life.

Waldo & Hanna Pakarinen

The Finnish TV show Vain elämää has brought us more music from former Eurovision artists. Waldo, known for competing as Waldo’s People in 2009, performed a joyful, feel-good song created specifically for the episode featuring iconic Finnish singer Katri Helena as a guest. The track is full of contagious energy and good vibes.

Hanna, who competed in Eurovision 2007, delivered a heartfelt ballad titled “My Heart Stays Here,” perfectly crafted to showcase her voice. Both Waldo’s and Hanna’s songs share the connection of being composed by the renowned Finnish composer Veikko Samuli and made famous by Katri Helena.

Zlata Ognevich – “Birdie”

Zlata is the beloved Ukrainian artist who represented her country at Eurovision in 2013. Three months ago, she released the song “Пташка” (Birdie) in Ukrainian, as part of the soundtrack for the Ukrainian horror war movie Конотопська Відьма. With the film getting an international release as The Witch. Revenge, Zlata has now dropped the English version of the track. In the lyrics, Zlata channels her inner fighter, portraying herself as a brave bird that continues to sing even in difficult times.

A captivating new song comes from Hungary’s Magdolna, who competed in Eurovision 2007. Titled “Under Trees,” this love song delves into the emotional confusion that comes with falling in love. In the song, Magdolna waits for her lover in the shade of the trees, accompanied by the sounds of Balkan music. She is surprised by his presence, wondering if he might be the one for her as she tries to understand her feelings and their complicated past: “The fire burns in my heart/ I listen to Balkan music/ I’m sipping on the past/ And I mean it.”

Andrzej Piaseczny et al. – “Moja i Twoja Nadzieja”

A collective project from Poland has emerged in support of the victims of the recent flooding that has impacted several European countries, including Poland. Among the many Polish artists featured in the song is Andrzej Piaseczny, who competed in Eurovision 2001 under the stage name Piasek. The song, titled “My and Your Hope,” is part of the #TogetherForYou campaign, aimed at raising awareness for the victims in southwestern Poland.

This initiative, spearheaded by Telewizja Polska, involves both media outreach and direct aid to the affected areas. The song stands as a symbol of community in challenging times, expressing solidarity and serving as a call to action to support those in need.

Gerard Joling, Danilo Kuiters & Party Piet Pablo – “Feestje Om Te Knallen”

Ready for some holiday vibes? It’s never too early, especially with a perfect anthem for Saint Nicholas’ Day, celebrated in many parts of Europe on 6 December. This festive track comes from the Netherlands and features Gerard Joling, who represented the country in Eurovision 1988. Joling teamed up with Danilo Kuiters and Party Piet Pablo to create this holiday banger for the movie The Big Saint Nicholas Film – Noise in the Bakery. The music video will instantly transport you into the holiday spirit, making it the perfect start to the festive season.

Sam Feldt feat. Rosa Linn – “Heart Like Mine”

Rosa Linn, who became a musical sensation after representing Armenia in 2022, is back with a new song that brings together disco and house vibes. The track is a collaboration with renowned Dutch DJ Sam Feldt. Featuring empowering lyrics like “Break me down but I survive/ You can’t tame a heart like mine,” the song celebrates a free spirit and encourages living life to the fullest.

NAVIBAND & CHEEV – “MAMO”

We wrap up this week’s round-up with a heartfelt song from NAVIBAND, who represented Belarus in Eurovision 2017. Titled “Mother,” the track is a touching homage to mothers, featuring a lullaby-like melody. The song is a collaboration with CHEEV and is inspired by the real-life challenges the band faced during their relocation. It reflects on a world much scarier than the one depicted in childhood songs: “Mum, I’m having nightmares/ Where everything is not as you sang/ Where everything is hidden in the shadows.”
