Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Birmingham Pride is back with an even stronger lineup and series of community events after losing the council sponsorship. 2024 marks the the 27th annual event in the city and will run on Saturday 25 May and Sunday 26 May. Although, the Pride Parade will take place on the Saturday, the city will be in full celebratory swing from Friday.
Yes, that’s right. There’s a big community event taking place on Friday 24 May at Smithfield and will feature the annual candlelit vigil. There will be keynote speakers, live performances, art, music, community stalls and local artists. The theme for this year’s Pride is “Love Has No Limits”.

The Pride Parade is also free to attend. It is a key aspect of the entire festival weekend enjoyed by over 70,000 spectators lining the streets of Birmingham showing support for global solidarity, equality and justice. This will start in the city’s Centenary Square from noon on Saturday 25 May heading through the city centre before culminating in the LGBTQ+ village. The Big Free Community events, along with the parade and other free activities within the city ensures that Birmingham Pride remains inclusive and accessible.
Birmingham Pride — Headlined by Loreen
UK Eurovision 2024 star Olly Alexander headlined the main stage as part of Years and Years back in 2019. Later this month, double Eurovision champion Loreen will lead a sizzling hot line-up of acts, from chart-topping acts, to NZ superstars, from Drag Race stars to local talent, this event has got you sorted. She will perform her Eurovision hits, as well as new song “Forever“, which she performed during the Eurovision 2024 interval act.
Other featured stars include Sophie Ellis Bextor, Natasha Bedingfield, Jamelia, Heather Small, Gok Wan and Beverley Knight.
