Italy’s Angelina Mango will be heading to London Eurovision Party

Posted on 24 March 2024 By Admin No Comments on Italy’s Angelina Mango will be heading to London Eurovision Party

Anyone order a Mango? Yes, Angelina Mango will be bringing those irresistible Cumbia rhythms to London Eurovision Party at Here At Outernet in central London on April 7th.

Angelina took home the famous “Leone d’Oro,” trophy at Italy’s most prestigious music festival, Festival di Sanremo, with her winning entry “La Noia,” which translates to “Boredom” in English.
Miss Mango secured the top spot on the third night of the festival and ultimately triumphed in the Super Final on the 5th night, beating out an all-star Sanremo field including returning winners Mahmood and Il Volo.

The 22 year old also performed a rearranged version of “La rondine”, a song originally performed by her father, ranking second on the fourth night of the festival dedicated to live covers. On the fifth and final night, Angelina rather impressively came in first place with the Press Jury and with the Radio Jury. She also finished in a very respectable second place in the televote. This was enough for 40.3% of the total vote – head and shoulders above the chasing pack.

Who is Angelina Mango?

Angelina Mango was born on 10th April 2001 in Maratea, in the province of Potenza, Basilicata. She seemed destined for the stars as her parents were both singers; Laura Valente, and Giuseppe Mango, the latter was simply known as Mango. Growing up in a musical family environment, Angelina learned to sing, play the piano and the guitar. She joined a cover band as a singer where her brother played the drums and performed in several clubs around their hometown.

Fast forward to 2020, Mango released her first single “Va tutto bene”. And in 2022, she took part in the twenty-second edition of the musical talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, where she finished in second place and won the singing category. In 2023, she released the single “Che t’o dico a fa’”, which reached number two on the Italian singles chart and was certified platinum.
