Margot Robbie Is Old Hollywood Barbie at the 2024 SAG Awards

Posted on 25 February 2024 By Admin No Comments on Margot Robbie Is Old Hollywood Barbie at the 2024 SAG Awards

This Barbie is a nominee! On Saturday, Margot Robbie attended the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards and stunned in another look influenced directly by the doll that inspired it all.

The 33-year-old Aussie actress — a nominee in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Leading Role category for her portrayal of Barbie in the eponymous film — dazzled her way into the event wearing a black dress that channeled her iconic character and gave a nod to awards season.

Robbie’s dress featured a pink fabric that pulled double duty as a train and a waistband. Completing her look, the star wore a pair of black pumps that had a dazzling silver strap around the ankle.

For her makeup, Robbie kept it simple and opted to wear her hair in beachy waves that flowed down her shoulders, mimicking the look of the specific doll that she styled the entire look after.

Saturday’s carefully cultivated appearance follows a series of Barbie doll-inspired dresses and outfits for previous red carpet events, fan previews and award shows in the months leading up to the film’s July 2023 release and the upcoming Academy Awards.

In total, Barbie received four SAG Award nominations, including nods for Outstanding Performance by a Cast, Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (Ryan Gosling as Ken) and Outstanding Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.

Robbie has personally scored eight SAG nominations over the years as both a standout actress and an ensemble cast member for her films, including I, Tonya, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Bombshell, Babylon and Mary Queen of Scots.

The 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards is on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET and is streaming live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Follow along at ETonline.com for full coverage from the awards show, including red-carpet arrivals, winners and more.
