Saba from Denmark will bring “Sand” to the London Eurovision Party

Posted on 23 February 2024 By Admin No Comments on Saba from Denmark will bring “Sand” to the London Eurovision Party

She won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix last weekend, and now Denmark’s Saba has joined the line-up for the London Eurovision Party! Saba will bring her powerhouse vocals and uptempo pop anthem ‘Sand’ to Here At Outernet in central London on April 7th.

Who is Saba?

Saba – real name Anna Saba Lykke Oehlenschlæger – was the hot favourite to win her national selection, DMGP. Fans adored her all over social media, and were thrilled when she won the Super-final. She beat Eurovision alumni Basim by 3 points to take the ticket to Malmö. She got her victory through the jury vote, who considered ‘Sand’ a landslide! Her other two competitors in this section of the show only got 15 and 13 points from the jury, compared to her 22.

She has completed this achievement after an incredible 2023 where she starred in the musical Hair at the Østre Gasværk Teater in Østerbro, replacing her twin sister in the role when she was no longer able to. This was her stage debut, and it was enough to get her a chance at DMGP.

The song ‘Sand’ was co-written by Melanie Wehbe, who wrote modern classic, The Mamas’ ‘Move’. She also wrote for Denmark before, penning ‘Love Is Forever’ by Leonora in 2019.
