ESC 250 2023: Käärijä wins Eurovision top tracks countdown with “Cha Cha Cha”

Posted on 31 December 2023 By Admin No Comments on ESC 250 2023: Käärijä wins Eurovision top tracks countdown with “Cha Cha Cha”

New Year’s Eve means only one thing for Eurovision fans — the return of the Eurovision Top 250 Countdown, often known as ESC 250. The yearly poll sees fans pick their favourite 250 entries from the contest’s history.

Eurovision 2012 champion Loreen sat atop the podium for ten consecutive years with “Euphoria”. That is until Spain’s 2022 star, Chanel, took over after climbing all the way to the top of last year’s ranking with the booty-hypnotic “SloMo”.

But in the end, neither of them were able to take home another crown this year. Instead, it was Finland’s Käärijä who emerged victorious with voters, selecting his 2023 entry “Cha Cha Cha” as the number one Eurovision song of all time.

Voting for ESC 250 — organised once again by Songfestival.be — took place earlier in the month, with Eurovision fans submitting points for their top 10 favourite songs from the contest’s history. The results of the poll were then revealed throughout New Year’s Eve, 31 December.

In a change to previous years, the 2023 countdown was held on EFR12 Radio.

Who do you think of the ESC 250 2023 results? What was your personal ranking? Let us know in the comments below.
