Malmö is preparing for its host city duties of Eurovision 2024. The City Council is now advertising for volunteers to make the experience as best as possible for delegations, fans and visitors.
One of the things revealed in their post is that the Eurovision Village will be hosted at Folkets Park (People’s Park) in the southern part of Malmö city, just as it was in 2013 when Malmö last hosted Eurovision.
All volunteers must be born before 2005 (or 1998 in some capacities) and able to handle themselves well in both written and oral Swedish and English. It’s also a demand that you have a Swedish identity number and a Swedish mobile BankID.
One of the jobs is being a delegation host, where you will help the countries’ delegations before and during Eurovision. Besides knowledge of Swedish and English you have to be able to communicate in one or several of these languages: Albanian, Armenian, Azeri, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Slovenian and Turkish. We guess the languages are copied from the 2012 volunteer text, since neither Hungary nor Türkiye are competing in Eurovision at the moment!
There will also be a “Eurovision Street” between Triangeln Square and Folkets Park, with Triangeln Station being the closest to Hyllie and Malmö Arena with just a 6 min. train ride between Triangeln and the arena.
The application page will open 15 December at 10.00.
