Rumours have been swirling that Bulgaria might return to the Eurovision Song Contest. And 2011 and 2016 alum Poli Genova has already waded into the storm by reminding us that she’s ready to go “once she gets the green light.”

But it would seem she’s not the only Bulgarian Eurovision star hungry to make a return. VICTORIA — the country’s 2020 and 2021 Eurovision act — has been tweeting up a storm. And that’s left a lot of Eurovision fans wondering if she’s the one to bring Bulgaria back to Eurovision in Malmö.

Of course, Bulgaria hasn’t said anything. When it withdrew after Turin, its official Twitter account made it sound like they would be staying away for a while. But in recent weeks the social media winds have been blowing the other direction.

On Saturday afternoon, VICTORIA tweeted that “a little surprise is coming next week,” signing her tweet with an xoxo. The official BNT Eurovision account then retweeted it.

Eurovision fan @J5TT_L retweeted VICTORIA as well, along with the GIF of a pageant mom saying, “Oh my god!” VICTORIA then replied, “we are all thinking…”

But there’s more.

VICTORIA has been teasing her participation with fans on social media. She hasn’t been quick to rule anything out. Just look at this first grab from @escwill.

On October 14 VICTORIA retweeted a Euronews interview she’d given. It came with a very bold headline: “I really want to perform at Eurovision again.”

Among other things, the “Tears Getting Sober” songwriter said that she wants to release a new album within two years — and mentioned that she was headed to Sweden to work on new tunes.

“My idea is to release an album within two years,” she said. “This is my dream. Now I have a trip to Sweden coming up, where I will meet new music producers to work with, as well as those I work with in general. I want to expand my circle of people I make music with.”

As you’ll recall from Eurovision 2022, Bulgaria’s broadcaster made its competing artists Intelligent Music Project foot the bill for their participation. VICTORIA is now working with Warner Music…so perhaps her deeper pockets mean she’ll be able to do just that.
