Norway: Melodi Grand Prix final set for 3 February in Trondheim…with “big and well-known artists” in the mix

Posted on 7 November 2023 By Admin No Comments on Norway: Melodi Grand Prix final set for 3 February in Trondheim…with “big and well-known artists” in the mix
The 18 artists competing in Melodi Grand Prix 2024 — Norway’s national selection for Eurovision — will be revealed on Friday 5 January.
And you can rest assured when we say it’s going to be a star-studded lineup with some juicy surprises. Just ask Stig Karlsen, the brain behind the show, which will have three semi-finals on 13, 20, and 27 January.
“We are very excited about the line-up in MGP,” he said in a statement. “We can promise a very high level of artists and songs. There will be big and well-known artists, there will be new shooting stars, a wide selection of genres and expressions.”
”We have the songs that can assert themselves strongly in Europe and the world. And who knows, maybe 2024 will be the year when Norway wins the Eurovision Song Contest again!”
The semi-finals will take place in Oslo, at the NRK studio in Marienlyst. Six acts will compete and three will advance to the final.
The final will get a major upgrade from the semis. It will unfold in the 8,500 capacity Spektrum arena in Trondheim. It takes at least 6h40 to reach Trondheim by train from Oslo.

Melodi Grand Prix 2024 dates

  • Artist Presentation: Friday 5 January

  • Semi-final 1: Saturday 13 January

  • Semi-final 2: Saturday 20 January

  • Semi-final 3: Saturday 27 January
