Charlotte Perrelli to sing at Eurovision in Concert 2024…as she co-hosts with Cornald Maas

Over the past few months, a lot of Eurofans have been wondering who will host the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. We’ll have to wait a little bit longer to find out about that. But today the hosts of Eurovision in Concert 2024 have been announced.

Eurovision in Concert is a benchmark for fans and bookmakers and an excellent opportunity to take a good look at the competitors for the upcoming edition of the song contest. It’s often the first time acts perform their songs live and it can really set the pace for their Eurovision season.

Such an important event deserves A-list hosts and this year we’re getting them again in the form of The Netherlands’ “Mr. Eurovision” Cornald Maas and Eurovision 1999 winner Charlotte Perrelli!

Yes, out of the light, like a star, like a hero, Charlotte is booking a flight from Sweden to Amsterdam. We did not see this coming. Organisers teased on Twitter that “Charlotte will sing her Eurovision entries,” so “Hero” and “Take Me To Your Heaven” are coming at you live!

Charlotte — who also competed at Eurovision in 2008 — remains a Eurovision fan favourite and this is a huge get for the organisers in The Netherlands.

Besides her spins at Eurovision, Charlotte also hosted the first semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2003 and co-hosted the entire tour the following year. In 2012 she competed in Melodifestivalen again with the song “The Girl,” but crashed out of her semi. She participated in Melodifestivalen 2021 with the song ”Still Young” and finished eighth in the final.

She’s also the aunt of Eurovision 2018 participant Benjamin Ingrosso.

Over the past few years, Cornald Maas has been a staple of the event. He is one of the most important figureheads of the song contest there. For years he’s been the commentator of Eurovision on Dutch TV and was also a part of the selection committee.

Eurovision in Concert will take place on 13 April 2024. Will we see you there?
