Poll results: Käärija’s “Cha Cha Cha” is the Eurovision 2023 song our readers are still listening to

Posted on 3 September 2023 By Admin No Comments on Poll results: Käärija’s “Cha Cha Cha” is the Eurovision 2023 song our readers are still listening to

Now that Belgium has revealed MUSTII as its Eurovision 2024 act, the Eurovision 2023 season is well and truly behind us. As we look forward to Albania’s Festivali i Këngës and other national finals on the horizon, it’s inevitable that a lot of tracks from ESC 2023 are going drop off our playlists.

But every year a few tracks manage to stand the test of time to become evergreens played at home and in bars and probably the annual Eurovision cruise in the Baltic.

We wanted to forecast which tracks from the Class of 2023 will stand the test of time. So on July 6 we asked our readers to consult their iPhones and music systems and to let us know which Eurovision 2023 tracks they are still listening to.

After receiving 25,574 votes, the results are in…and our readers are still bopping to Käärija’s Eurovision runner-up “Cha Cha Cha”.

The song reached number 1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 chart and number 7 on the streaming site’s Top 50 chart. It’s the most listened to Finnish-language song of all time on Spotify and also cracked number six on the U.K. Singles Chart. It’s the first Finnish-language song ever to make the Top 10 there.

The track received plenty of plaudits from the Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — ahead of the contest.

Dayana, our blogger in Finland, gave it a perfect 10, writing: “It’s crazy, it’s catchy, and it sends an important message – we don’t need alcohol to have fun. And Käärijä manages to serve all of these effortlessly, along with his unmatched style. What else could you wish for? The staging is already perfectly suited for Liverpool, but I’m hoping to see some surprises from the Finnish team.”

Germany’s Lord of the Lost, Sweden’s Loreen, Norway’s Alessandra and Austria’s Teya & Salena round out our readers’ Top 5.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Azerbaijan’s TuralTuranX, Ireland’s Wild Youth, San Marino’s Piqued Jacks, Greece’s Victor and Romania’s Theodor Andrei. None of these songs earned more than 149 votes, or less than .58% of the total.
